Florida Gators recruiting visitors list for the Tennessee game

The Florida Gators will host Tennessee on Saturday in a big rivalry game but off the field it will also be one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the fall for the Gators.

Billy Napier and the Gators staff will host several commits on campus, plus a handful of their top targets in the 2024 class and a lot of prospects in the Class of 2025 and 2026.

GatorCountry brings you a recruiting visitors list preview for this weekend’s game against the Vols in the Swamp.

Top 2024 targets to visit

While the Gators will only host four big targets in the 2024 class on Saturday, two of those targets are at the top of the board for the staff.

Defensive lineman LJ McCray will be on campus with his safety teammate Zay Mincey as both will make the trip over from Daytona Beach. McCray and Mincey have been on campus a lot, and both were on campus multiple times this summer. Georgia has surged as of late for McCray, but the Gators remain in good shape for the lineman.

Miami has made a big push for Mincey as of late too, but the Gators have continued to remain right there for the safety. This will be a battle until the end for both McCray and Mincey.

Offensive lineman Favour Edwin has been to Gainesville twice in the past and is someone the staff is keeping a close eye on. Edwin is in no rush to decide and plans to take visits this fall and after the season before deciding.

Athlete Kamron Mikell is someone that the staff likes a lot at receiver, and he will be on campus for the second time this weekend. Mikell went to Colorado last week and has several schools recruiting him. Georgia and South Carolina are also in the mix for him, but both of those schools want him at defensive back.

Commits coming to town

Helping the coaching staff recruit those targets as well as the underclassmen will be 14 of the Gators’ 21 commits. Headlining the group will be quarterback commit DJ Lagway who will be back on campus for the second straight weekend. Lagway is the leader of the class and a big recruiter for the class.

Running back Kahnen Daniels and defensive lineman Jamonta Waller will both make the trip from Mississippi over to Gainesville for Saturday’s game. Both prospects have remained solid with the Gators despite a push from other schools.

Receiver commits Izaiah Williams and Jerrae Hawkins both plan to be in Gainesville and this will be the second straight week for Williams.

Offensive line commit Fletcher Westphal says his recruitment is shut down and he will be back on campus this weekend.

Teammates Myles Graham and Kendall Jackson will also be in town for the second straight weekend as both will make the short drive over to campus.

Linebacker commit Adarius Hayes who’s having a great senior year will be on campus for his first game of the year.

Defensive back commits Josiah Davis, Xavier Filsaime, Teddy Foster and Wardell Mack will all be on campus as well.

2025 signal callers to visit

Joining Lagway on campus will be three quarterbacks in the Class of 2025 as Florida looks to find its leader for next year’s class.

2025 quarterback Antwann Hill will make the short drive down from Georgia on Saturday. Hill has been on campus in the past but this will be his first trip this year.

2025 Florida State quarterback commit Trammell Jones Jr. also plans to be on campus as the Gators have continued to recruit him despite his commitment to the Noles. Jones is from Jacksonville and has built a good relationship with the staff.

2025 quarterback Ryan Montgomery is having a great junior year and he will make the trip down from Ohio on Saturday. Montgomery has a top five of Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, and South Carolina but the Gators and Carolina appear to be the two teams with the most buzz.
