Five offensive targets to watch from the Class of 2025 for the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators coaching staff has put together a good 2024 class on the offensive side of the ball and still has some big pieces remaining on the board.

Billy Napier and the offensive staff have now turned their attention to the 2025 class as they look to add even more talent to that side of the ball.

The Gators have positioned themselves in good shape for several prospects in the 2025 class early on and GatorCountry brings you five guys to watch heading into the fall on the defensive side of the ball.

This list isn’t a complete list of prospects that the Gators are in good shape for but just a look at five of the many.

Quarterback Ryan Montgomery (6-3, 215, Findlay, OH. High)- Montgomery recently named a top five of Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, and South Carolina and the Gators are a school that has been talked about a lot in his recruitment. Montgomery has already said that he will be in Gainesville for the Tennessee game and that’s huge for Florida. South Carolina is also doing a great job in Montgomery’s recruitment but Billy Napier and Ryan O’Hara have put the full court press on the Ohio native.

Running back Waltez Clark (6-2, 194, Tampa, FL. Plant)- Clark was in Gainesville for the Gators Grill in the Ville cookout event in July and had several coaches always talking to him during the event. Clark said after the event that he knows that he’s wanted in Gainesville and Florida is very high in Clark’s recruitment as he says that the Gators are in top 3 for sure. Clark plans to be in town for several games this fall as Florida looks to seal the deal with the instate back.

Receiver Naeshaun Montgomery (6-0, 160, West Palm Beach, FL. Cardinal Newman)- Montgomery has visited Gainesville multiple times in the past and has spoken highly of the Gators and the coaching staff. Montgomery has picked up a lot of offers since the spring. Montgomery has also mentioned running track in college which could help the Gators chances with the pass catcher. Florida State, Georgia, and Miami are all in the mix for Montgomery.

Offensive lineman Ziyare Addison (6-5, 270, Tampa, FL. Sumner)- Addison is a guy who blew up in the spring as several big programs offered the Tampa native and the Gators joined the mix this summer. Addison plans to visit Gainesville this fall as he wants to build a relationship with the Gators’ coaching staff. Florida State seems to be the team to beat early on.

Offensive lineman Solomon Thomas (6-3, 278, Jacksonville, FL. Raines)- Napier and the coaching staff want to get Jacksonville back to being an area that the Gators succeed in, and Thomas would be a great start for that in 2025. Thomas is one of the top offensive linemen in the country and has visited Florida several times already. Thomas has a good relationship with Rob Sale, Darnell Stapleton and Billy Napier but Florida trails Florida State and Georgia early on.
