Florida Gators cook-out visitors list preview

The Florida Gators will host their last big recruiting event on Saturday before fall camp gets underway on Monday for the football team.

Billy Napier and his staff will have their second annual cook-out event on Saturday and several big names are expected in town as well as several of the Gators’ commits.

GatorCountry brings you a preview of the expected visitors’ list for Saturday’s cook-out event in Gainesville.

DB target to visit

Defensive back Wardell Mack was on campus in June for an official visit and he’s expected to make the trip to Gainesville from Louisiana on Saturday. Mack is one of the top corners in the country and the Gators are battling LSU and Texas for his signature. Mack was expected to visit LSU before visiting Florida but now plans to just visit Gainesville this weekend.

Commits coming to town

Florida will have 18 of their 21 commits in town this weekend to help the coaching staff recruit others, plus it will give the staff the chance to make sure all of the commits are solid with the Gators heading into the season.

Leading the way will be quarterback DJ Lagway who will be joined by receiver Jerrae Hawkins and Izaiah Williams on campus. All three guys are solid with the Gators and haven’t mentioned taking any visits elsewhere.

Offensive linemen Marcus Mascoll, Noal Portnajagin, Fletcher Westphal, and Mike Williams all plan to make the trip to Gainesville. Those four will have the chance to spend more time around Lagway during the event.

Defensive linemen Michai Boireau, Kendall Jackson, Nasir Johnson, Jamonta Waller, and Amaris Williams all plan to be in town as well.

The linebacker trio of Aaron Chiles, Myles Graham, and Adarius Hayes will also make the trip to campus. Graham has recently transferred to Buchholz High School where he will play his senior year.

Defensive back commits Josiah Davis, Xavier Filsaime, and Teddy Foster will be on campus in hopes of luring Mack to join the class. The Gators are still looking to add more bodies at the position.

Underclassmen prospects to visit

This event will also be a great chance for the Gators to gain momentum for some underclassmen who are expected on campus this weekend.
