Gage calls the Swamp “the best atmosphere”

While the stands had a lot of top 2023 targets in attendance for Saturday’s game against Utah, there were also a lot of 2024 prospects in the Swamp.

2024 running back Stacy Gage (5-11, 200, Tampa, FL. Wharton) was in attendance on Saturday and enjoyed the crowd in the Swamp.

“The atmosphere was crazy,” Gage said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “They were telling me before the game about it, but I didn’t know that it was going to be that crazy. It was probably the best atmosphere I’ve been in for a game.”

Running backs coach Jabbar Juluke has a good group of running backs and Gage believes he could fit right in with the Gators.

“Oh yeah most definitely,” he said on if he thinks he fits into Florida’s offense. “All of their backs are power backs so I feel like I can fit into this rotation.”

Gage also liked how head coach Billy Napier and Juluke played young guys all over the field including Trevor Etienne at running back.

“I love coaches that play basically the best guy,” Gage said on if seeing Etienne play was big to him. “It doesn’t matter what grade you are in because honestly, I want to play my freshman year also.”

Last week was the first time that coaches could contact 2024 prospects and Gage said the Gators were one of the first teams to contact him with a message.

“Basically, Coach Juluke was just saying what’s up to me,” he said on Florida’s message to him when they were able to contact him last week. “He didn’t get too much in-depth, but he told me that we’re going to start building that relationship.”

After this weekend’s visit, Gage says the Gators are a team-high in his recruitment with a few others.

“Most definitely one of my top schools,” Gage said on his interest in Florida. “USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Alabama are recruiting me nicely.”

The 2024 running back already has an idea of when he may return to Gainesville for another visit this fall.

“I’m not sure, I think [LSU] is the game me and Dijon [Johnson] was talking about,” Gage said on when he plans to return to Florida.
