Brown hopes to visit the Florida Gators more in the future

On Friday, the Florida Gators hosted a few top prospects on campus for unofficial visits including one of the top receivers in the country.

Receiver Jalen Brown (6-1, 170, Miami, FL. Gulliver Prep) made his first trip to Gainesville in a long time and met the new coaching staff led by Billy Napier.

“The visit went pretty well,” Brown said of his visit to Florida. “I got to see the coaches and talk to them for the first time. It was a good experience.”

Brown walked away from the visit very impressed by the coaching staff and the future of the Florida Gators.

“My first impression is that they’re some cool dudes who know what they’re talking about,” he said on his impressions of the staff. “They have a future for Florida, and they have a plan that they’re going to follow to achieve that future.”

Receivers coach Keary Colbert and Napier also explained to Brown during the visit just why the receiver would be a good fit for the Gators.

“Pretty much being that quick and fast receiver for them,” Brown said on how Florida sees him fitting into the offense. “They want me to be able to get behind the defense and pick apart the defense from any angle on the football field. They said they need me.”

Brown is doing his research on every coach that he visits, and he likes the coaching history that Colbert has with several NFL receivers.

“That’s a big thing for me,” he said on how important Colbert’s history of coaching the position is to him. “The main part for me besides education when I’m picking a college is development and which coach and school will be able to develop me the most.”

The Gators made up some ground for Brown on Friday and the receiver says he hopes to come back to Gainesville for more visits in the future.

“I’ve always had a connection with Florida, I’ve had some family members come through Florida,” Brown said of his interest in Florida. “Florida has always been in the conversation, but I haven’t really been able to come up so that’s why they weren’t really big in the conversation but I’m going to try and get up here more and get a feeling for the school.”
