Moore says Friday’s visit gave Florida a “huge boost”

Friday was a busy day for Billy Napier and the rest of the Florida Gators coaching staff as several prospects were on campus to visit with the staff.

Quarterback Dante Moore (6-2, 195, Detroit, MI. Martin Luther King) was one of those on campus and he liked the visit and the gear the Gators wear.

“It was a great visit,” Moore said of his visit to Florida. “The biggest thing for me was seeing the Jordan Brand, to have a brand that’s exclusive because not a lot of schools have Jordan, having that gear and jerseys is a big takeaway.”

Moore was able to meet the coaching staff for the first time and he was impressed by the way they carried themselves in meetings and on the tour.

“Meeting the coaching staff after talking to them on the phone was big,” he said on meeting the staff for the first time. “One thing that I will say about them is that they’re very cool and relaxed. Not saying that it isn’t good to be outrageous and have the energy, but this staff is cool and calm and talk to you about ball and the serious things. They just sat there and walked around with us very calm.”

Napier met with Moore on Friday about how he could fit into the offense in Gainesville, and they watched film together on the Gators offense.

“One thing that they’ve always told me is that their offensive scheme is very similar to my high school offense, they run a lot of RPO,” Moore said on the message from the staff. “They had a great quarterback at Louisiana, we watched his film and they’re going to bring that offense over to Florida. They have something planned for the quarterbacks and with Coach Napier being a quarterback guy, it’s huge.”

Heading into the visit, Moore had interest in the Gators, but he says Florida made a move for him after he was able to see everything in person.

“It made a huge boost for them for sure,” he said on where Florida stands for him now. “I’m going to take like two weeks off when I get done and then I will start taking official visits mid-April and finish mid to late May. I will probably make a decision a month after.”
