The Florida Gators picked up a big commitment on Tuesday when an instate prospect committed to the Gators to give them 16 commitments in the Class of 2022.
Defensive end/outside linebacker Jack Pyburn (6-3, 265, Jacksonville, FL. Bolles) announced his decision on Tuesday as he committed to Florida over Auburn and Miami.
“Destiny,” Pyburn tweeted. “Committed to the Swamp
Pyburn visited Gainesville last weekend and picked up an offer while on the trip and it was an offer that the defensive end has dreamed of.
“It’s pretty surreal,” Pyburn said on what the offer means to him. “It’s the moment you think about as a little kid. Coach Napier told me that he wanted to offer because not only am I great player but a great young man. He said I’m the type of person that I am is exactly what he needs to reshape a team and develop a culture for the program.”
Defensive line coach Sean Spencer and Napier explained to Pyburn where he would play at on defense while he was in town.
“They see me as an edge, their Jack, Jack playing Jack” he said on where Florida wants him to play. “He loves my motor and loves who I am. He sees me as a player that can make an impact and a throwback football player.”
Pyburn joins defensive end Andrew Savalinaea as recruits committed to play the rush end/outside linebackers in the class.
The Bolles prospect will sign his Letter of Intent with the Gators on Wednesday and officially become a Gator.
