Tuesday was a huge day for the Florida Gators coaching staff as not only were they able to get a lot of instate prospects on campus but several prospects from the state of Georgia were able to make it on campus.
Defensive back Nick Cull (5-11, 175, Donalsonville, GA. Seminole County) was able to visit and he credits the coaching staff for being a reason why he visited Gainesville first.
“It was great, every part of the visit was great for real,” Cull said of his visit to Florida. “My relationship with the coaching staff, we have a close relationship and we’ve been talking a lot.”
Heading into the visit Cull had high expectations for his visit to Florida and he says the Gators exceeded his expectations and he likes a lot about them.
“Everything, the people, not just the coaches but the campus coordinators too,” Cull said on what he likes about Florida. “Pretty much everything, just being here and able to shake their hand was different. I knew Florida was kind of like home because during my virtual visit the image, I was like I like this.”
Defensive backs coach Jules Montinar explained to Cull on Tuesday that his ability will allow him to help the defense in several different ways.
“My versatility, I can play all over the defense,” Cull said on the message from Jules. “I can play any defensive back position, corner, safety, and even star. We’re supposed to do a zoom call about how my skill set translates into their scheme.”
Cull was quick to point out that he will be returning to Gainesville for an official visit after Tuesday’s successful visit.
“It will be before the season, I was thinking about during the season but there wouldn’t be as much time to talk to the coaches,” he said when he plans to officially visit Florida. “It was going to be during the Alabama game but it will be before the season.”
Next up for Cull are several camps for unofficial visits and then he has a few official visits in mind.
“I’m going to be going to Alabama on June 5th for a camp then I’m going to Ole Miss,” Cull said on upcoming visits. “On June 18th I’ll be at Miami for an official, I’ll be doing an official with South Carolina and Florida too.”
INSIDERS TAKE: Cull says he will make a decision sometime during his season this fall.
