On Monday night the Florida Gators sent out three new offers to receivers in the 2022 class who are from outside the state of Florida.
2022 receiver Jay Fair (5-10, 170, Rockwall, TX. Rockwall-Heath) was one of those who picked up an offer on Monday when he talked to his position coach.
“It was Coach [Billy] Gonzales that offered me,” Fair said on who offered him on Monday night. “He said he loved my speed and playmaking ability and wanted to make me a Florida Gator.”
Fair has 15 offers already but an offer from the Gators is one that Fair has wanted during his recruitment.
“It means a lot,” he said on the offer. “Florida is a school that I’m very high on and when I received the news I was aesthetic.”
Receivers coach Billy Gonzales didn’t go into much detail about the offer with Fair but he did explain to the receiver what the Gators like about him.
“We didn’t get into much but it will be interesting to see where he wants me,” Fair said on how he would fit into the offense. “He said he liked the way I attack the ball in the air and make explosive plays.”
Fair watched the Gators a lot last year and he liked Florida’s offense and how they involved the receiver position into it.
“I love how exciting the offense is,” he said on Florida’s offense. “The way they use and develop their receives is really something special.”
Now that Fair has the offer from the Gators, he wants to visit Gainesville so he can learn more about Florida.
“They’re high on the list,” Fair said of his interest in Florida. “The colors and the way they develop their players and their history of top players as well is why I like them.”
INSIDERS TAKE: Fair said he wants to visit Florida, TCU, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Notre Dame, and Georgia.
