The Florida Gators had several of their top targets on campus on Saturday night for the Gators’ tough loss to LSU.
Defensive back Terrion Arnold (6-0, 180, Tallahassee, FL. John Paul II Catholic) was one of those on campus on Saturday night and he enjoyed the visit despite it being a different visit.
“It was great, it was a great atmosphere and great people,” Arnold said of his visit to Florida. “It’s really just an unofficial visit but you can’t talk with the coach. They just interact with you over the phone and stuff.”
Arnold was able to hang out with several other recruits on campus as they all enjoyed the atmosphere.
“I was around Donovan [McMillon] Tunmise [Adeleye] and [Xavian] Sorey,” he said on the guys he was around. “The atmosphere was great, it was a crazy game with a smaller crowd so what would it be like when it’s packed and I’ve been there when it’s packed and it didn’t seem much different.”
The defensive back says things didn’t go the Gators way on Saturday but Arnold sees some opportunities for him to come in help the team.
“The defense one of the best games of the year for them, the offense was nice going into that game but looking past them because you’re already in the SEC Championship game to face Bama,” Arnold said on his thoughts on the game. “The whole Marco situation was obviously an immature thing but you can’t blame it on one player, you can blame it on Kyle’s [Trask] interception or the missed field goal or even the turnovers. It was just a great game and a great atmosphere. I can see myself coming in and helping things in the secondary.”
After the game, Arnold was able to speak with the coaching staff over the phone and they had one clear message for him.
“They were just like you need to come in here ready to play ASAP,” he said on the message from Florida. “They say I will help at free safety and corner, they just need me to be ready to get on the field.”
Earlier this month Arnold released a top five earlier this year that consisted of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M and LSU and he says those are the teams recruiting him the hardest.
“Still the same top five teams,” Arnold said. “I don’t know yet on anymore [visits], I will have to see.”
