Sapp was excited by his Florida Gators offer on Tuesday

On Tuesday, the Florida Gators handed out a new offer to an out of state prospect in the 2022 class.

2022 offensive lineman Qae’shon Sapp (6-5, 310, Leesburg, GA. Lee County) picked up an offer after he talked to one of the Gators assistant coaches.

“Coach [John] Hevesy was the one who offered,” Sapp said on the coach from Florida who offered him. “He spoke about how athletic and physical I am to be my size and he wanted to offer me.”

Sapp was excited about Tuesday’s offer and he has already built a relationship with John Hevesy over the past few weeks.

“It means a lot because it’s not to far from home,” he said on what the offer means to him. “I was pretty excited because I have a bond with Coach Hevesy so I was a little pumped up.”

Offensive line coach John Hevesy explained to Sapp why Florida liked his game and where he would fit into the line if he chooses the Gators for college.

“He said I would fit into the offense great because I’m very aggressive off the ball,” Sapp said on how Hevesy would fit into Florida’s offense. “Once I get there I’ll probably be playing guard because I have very good feet and I’m good at pass protection and getting off the ball.”

Sapp likes what he knows about Hevesy so far and they talk a lot as they continue to build on their relationship.

“I talk to him almost every day, he’s a pretty funny guy,” he said on his relationship with Hevesy. “He loves Snapchat, he streaks me all the time but he’s a very energetic person and cares about his recruits and players.”

The offensive lineman says he wants to visit Florida when he can and he likes several things about the Gators program.

“I really like Florida, they’re a good school athletic and academic wise,” Sapp said of his interest in Florida. “I love how they do both running and throwing schemes but I’m more of a running scheme guys because I like to be able to run block down the field.”
