Florida Gators offensive lineman Chris Bleich is no longer with the football team, Gator Country has confirmed.
Bleich, a redshirt freshman, has started eight of Florida’s nine games this season. The lone game he didn’t start was due to a foot injury against South Carolina and fellow freshman Richard Gouraige started in his place. Gouraige has been steadily taking snaps from Bleich as the season progresses. Bleich started against Georgia but was replaced by Gouraige and didn’t return to the game.
Hevesy spoke with the media Tuesday night after practice. He wouldn’t answer the question directly but he did speak to the point of the pressure that student-athletes face.
“I talk to the kids all the time. You’re 18 and 22 years old, and not just the pressures of college football, the pressure of life. There’s a thing between this age in life and doing this as long as I’ve done it, there’s things that go on in life. There’s things that go on between girlfriends, between deaths in families, between deaths of friends from high school, there’s things that you’re starting to go through that as a kid you didn’t really understand or deal with. As this part of your life, you’re really becoming a man.”
