Black had a lot of fun on his Florida Gators official visit

The Florida Gators hosted two official visitors this weekend including one of the Gators commits.

Linebacker commit Diwun Black (6-3, 216, Kissimmee, FL. Osceola) was on campus for his official visit and enjoyed his time in Gainesville.

“It was great, me and [Khris] Bogle had fun, took pictures and danced a lot,” Black said of his official visit to Florida this weekend. “It was pretty cool for my first official visit.”

Black has been on campus a lot and he says he didn’t see a lot of different things this weekend but overall he had fun on official visit.

“It was fun, we had a lot of fun,” Black said of his official visit. “About the same love and everything. My unofficial visits seemed like official visits.”

The Gators commit met with head coach Dan Mullen on Sunday before he left his official visit and the Gators coach had a short message for him.

“Keep working, you’re almost there to prove everybody wrong that has been doubting you,” he said on the message from the coaching staff. “I just take it as motivation and keep going.”

Linebackers coach Christian Robinson also met with Black this weekend and broke down where the Gators see him playing once he arrives in Gainesville.

“We were talking about what position I was going to play,” Black said of talking with Christian Robinson. “We was talking about the money position, rover and I can play all types of positions like safety and all that.”

Black watched the defense closely this year and he feels like he’s a good fit at one position in particular for the Gators.

“I think my fit would be better at outside linebacker,” he said on how he thinks he fits into Florida’s defense. “Like rushing a little bit, rushing off the edge.”

This weekend Black spent much of his time recruiting Alabama defensive end commit Khris Bogle and he had a message for the Crimson Tide commit.

“Every time we put a jersey on,” he said on if he was recruiting Bogle. “He said I like it, I like it. We kept talking about it throughout the day. I just tell him to come join the Gator Standard, come help us win a national championship in the next couple of years.”
