It was a big weekend for recruiting for the Florida Gators as several of the staff’s top targets were in the Swamp on Saturday night to watch the Kentucky game.
Defensive end Braylen Ingraham (6-4, 260, Fort Lauderdale, FL. St. Thomas Aquinas) was one of those guys on campus and he liked the atmosphere.
“The atmosphere was crazy,” Ingraham said of the atmosphere in the Swamp. “Florida fans were good.”
Despite the Gators losing to Kentucky, Ingraham says he still views Florida the same as he did before the game.
“It doesn’t affect things, I still think it’s a good school,” he said on if the loss hurts Florida.
Ingraham had a chance to meet with several coaches at Florida on Saturday and they had a message on where they see him playing at in the Gators’ defense.
“They said I can play everything on the line,” Ingraham said on where the staff sees him playing. “They see me playing multiple positions and moving around for them but that they can make me a better player both on and off the field if I come here [Florida].”
The defensive end announced a top six earlier this year but he says the Gators jumped one school in that top group.
“I’m still narrowing down my schools,” Ingraham said. “I announced my top six but Florida jumped Oklahoma. They don’t really communicate with me anymore.”
Florida who seemed to be trailing many schools made up ground with the communication from the Gators with Ingraham.
“A lot, they text me everyday,” he said on his communication with Florida. “I feel like a priority to them.”
The Gators got Ingraham on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit and will now likely get him on campus again for an official visit soon.
“I might come back next week here [Florida] for an official or I might take it on October 6th, it’s not final yet,” he said on what’s next for him on visits. “I’m going to Alabama on the 28th and I might take one to Oregon.”
INSIDERS TAKE: Ingraham says Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Miami and Oregon are still in the mix for him as he plays to make a decision on October 23rd.
