Kimbrough commits to Florida Gators over LSU

The Florida Gators have picked up momentum in recruiting since Friday Night Lights ended and that continued on Monday when the Gators landed a top defensive back target.
Cornerback Chester Kimbrough committed to the Florida Gators on Friday after having the Gators in the lead over LSU and others for most of the spring.
“Committed,” Kimbrough tweeted.
When Kimbrough visited the Gators the last two times, he has had a chance to meet some of the defensive backs and he knows he fits in with those guys.
“They’ve got some savages out there, all of the defensive backs lock down,” Kimbrough said on Florida’s defensive backs. “So if I come in, I would be like the missing piece. It’s very appealing to me.”
Kimbrough who is one of the top defensive backs in the country says one of the reasons he has had Florida on top for so long is because grew up watching the Gators.
With the commitment from Kimbrough, the Gators now have 12 commits for the class of 2019 and is the second defensive back in the class.
Kimbrough joins defensive back Trent Whittemore, linebackers, Tyron Hopper, Jamal Abrams, Diwun Black, Jesiah Pierre and defensive lineman Jaelin Humphries as members of the class on the defensive side of the ball.
