The Florida Gators coaching staff is juggling a few things in the latter days of February as they prepare for their first junior day under Dan Mullen, plus they’re preparing for spring practice that starts in March.
Those two things make for long days and on Monday, the Gators offered several prospects in the 2019 class just days before junior day.
GatorCountry.com brings you a quick recap of the guys that were offered on Monday in this recruiting notebook.
New offers
Several offers were extended on Monday and it wasn’t just to one area as guys all across the country picked up offers in the 2019 class.
Defensive end Joseph Wete (6-4, 220, Washington DC. Gonzaga High) was one of the guys offered. Wete has offers from the likes of Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma among others. Penn State is a team that he has visited several times in the past.
JUCO offensive lineman Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu (6-7, 365, Henderson, NV. Navarro JUCO) was offered by John Hevesy on Monday. Aumavae-Laulu has offers from USC and Utah among many others. USC is the team favored early on for the JUCO lineman.
Offensive lineman Donavan Beaver (6-6, 275, Fredericksburg, VA. Massaponax) was also offered by John Hevesy on Monday.
Miami offensive line commit Brandon Cunningham (6-5, 270, Ocean Springs, MS. St. Martin) was actually offered on Sunday night by Hevesy. Cunningham is very familiar with Dan Mullen and his coaching staff and has visited them in the past at Mississippi State.
Running back Marcus Major (6-0, 181, Oklahoma City, OK. Millwood) picked up his 14th offer from division one schools on Monday. Oklahoma is the team to beat early on for Major.
Lineman reoffered by Florida
Mullen has reoffered a lot of players that were offered by the former staff and one of the guys were reoffered on Monday night.
Offensive lineman Keiondre Jones (6-4, 315, Hogansville, GA. Callaway) was offered by John Hevesy and this is an important offer by the Gators. Jones is the younger cousin of freshman quarterback Emory Jones who the Gators signed this year. The two cousins are close and this offer gets the Gators squarely in the mix for the 2019 offensive lineman.
