McCullough has high interest in the Florida Gators program

The Florida Gators have hosted multiple out of state underclassmen on campus the last week including one of the top athletes in the state of Kansas.

2022 athlete Dasan McCullough (6-5, 215, Olathe, KS. Blue Valley North) was on a visit two weeks ago and enjoyed getting to meet the coaching staff.

“The visit was great,” McCullough said of his virtual visit. “I got to see just about everything you could without being on campus. I got to talk to Coach [Dan] Mullen and the whole defensive staff.”

This was the first time for McCullough to see a lot of what Florida has to offer and he liked several things about the Gators.

“The culture they have,” he said on what stood out to him during the visit. “I liked how all the coaches seemed like great people and they have a beautiful campus.”

Several of the defensive staff explained to McCullough just how he would fit into the Gators defense if he comes to Gainesville.

“They see me playing the ‘money’ linebacker position,” McCullough said on where the staff wants him to play. “That’s a hybrid linebacker that can be placed in multiple spots, they can blitz and be in man coverage. I would fit perfectly and they love my size, speed and physicality.”

Head coach Dan Mullen also talked at length with McCullough about why Florida is a good school and what Mullen likes about him.

“Just how he really wants to get me on campus,” he said on his talks with Mullen. “He really enjoys watching my tape and now we’re just going to keep building our relationship. He did tell me they were the only top 10 academic and football school.”

After the visit, McCullough says he likes several things about the Gators program and that has peaked his interest in the Gators.

“They’re in my top 10,” McCullough said on his interest in Florida. “I have high interest in them and I like the culture, staff and the campus.”
