No, he/she cannot. At least, not without sounding like a fool.
Nah, give him a chance. He started a thread and made a pretty strong judgement. Surely he can explain why he made it.
It was a toss up between rating this “funny” or “optimistic”
So much "but Trump."
So much "whataboutism."
Did not know that. I don't tweet or youtube
You're damn right. As a real con, I still use but Reagan to shoot down the nonsensical big gov BS spewed by pubs. God willing, Trump will be the low water mark for But __________
A couple seconds of them sitting quietly waiting for an interview to start, and you think this is somehow a negative? Have you ever even been on a sound stage? Have you been sitting with your family, waiting for a show or interview to start? I have. Unless you have kids to settle down, this is what you do. You sit quietly a few seconds until they roll camera.
Especially if a phone is ringing and you don’t want to talk over whoever answers it.
The crux of this idiotic “gotcha” video seems to be that he moistened his lips. Which is something you do when you’re about to talk to someone. Have you ever been, like, a human? How do you not know that? And they jacked the sound up so it sounds weird. Ask a doctor how normal mouth activities sound when amplified to extreme volume.
This video demonstrates the level of narcissism he has in that when he says the wrong word, or mispronounces it, he doesn’t correct himself. He doesn’t say “Taking action to disbend, I mean suspend...” He says it as if his mistake word wasn’t a mistake. He says, “Taking action to disbend, and suspend...”
He aways says “and” or he blurts out a flustered gable of sounds and changes the subject to cover up that he flubbed the word. The third option is he just lets it stand, indicating that he likely didn’t know it was wrong. He does this literally every single time.
He is that afraid to admit he made the tiniest, most meaningless mistake. It’s so pathetic.
So whataboutism is stupid? People should stop using that term to silence legitimate points regarding inconsistent standards and hypocrisy?
I'm not into making rules for everybody. I'll use whataboutism as I see fit & call BS on it when I see fit. As Steve Malkmus sings on the lovely Shady Lane, "There's no absolutes"
edit. the lyric is in Fin & it is "no more absolutes."
I do that at least once a week when I am prepping for a call or meeting. You just don’t even look at who is calling you five mins before. Maybe I can be president some day...
Seriously he has one task to focus on for the next five minutes, return the call after.
I don't really think whataboutism is stupid (as it can be used to illustrate a person's double standard for us v. them), but it definitely doesn't add to the context of a thread. I think it's mostly used to hold a person accountable for things they have been silent on in the past.
proving he memorized the answers in advance.
better than lying to the people about future deliverables.
we won't realize the increase in vaccinations due to Pfizer doubling production right away...Pfizer will help increase weekly shots given soon. has J&J actually started delivering vaccine yet? Has Moderna increased production? I get my second shot in six days.
And yet at the same time not one detail explaining what's incompetent about a man sitting quietly with his wife for 30-45 seconds while waiting for a taping to begin.
I found it somewhat refreshing, frankly
Yeah..."oatmeal or noodles for lunch, honey"?
hey honey, you got 15 minutes for me to tell you how I walked down a ramp like a boss......by myself! & how if I chose to, I could drink a cup of water with only 1 hand...
Biden in less than a month has already done more work as the president than Trump did in his entire four years in office.
