I remember going to a Gator Game in the 70's with my father but I don't remember the actual game. I'd guess I was 8-10 years old. My 2nd game I remember, it was the Wilber Marshall show. 9/11/1982, I was 14.

1969, Florida vs Houston, Reaves to Alvarez. I was almost 4. My dad and neighbor took me.

I really dont remember anything about it except a few flashes. I remember a lot of the games after I was about 6 or 7.

That game had a delay in it with much rain throughout the night. Still loved watching Earnest Graham taking it the distance the start of the fourth quarter. We won 34-6, but it was a slow start.

I remember OSU turning the ball over midfield and first play Matthew's tossed it 50 yards to Everett. That was one of my favorite things about Spurrier. Striking while the iron is hot.

Mine eerily similar to gocart and Danman, above.
Went to a Tennessee game in the 70s. was probably 7 years old. did not give a crap about football, but remember being mesmerized by the stadium, the atmosphere, and especially how 'pretty' the astro turf field was. 2nd game was 1979 georgia tech (I think) which was the only non-loss tie game that year. it was Pell's first year. I remember some dude yelling, "BRING DOUG DICKEY BACK!!".

My first true good memory when I understood football and was a little more mature at 11 years old was USC in 1982. the south endzone renovation was brand new, we were coming off a fantastic win against Miami the week before which was all the buzz. I remember the ABC network trucks parked outside the west stands (being on live TV in 1982 was a HUGE deal) This game had the B52 bomber fly by, James Jones' falling-backwards-one-handed-go-ahead touchdown grab thrown by Wayne Peace, Wilbur Marshall domination, and the victory lap by the team led by Coach Pell. That whole day was electric and I have bled orange and blue ever since. went to many, many, many games after that thru out the 80s and beyond.

Pretty good game but we lost by like 7. I think David Bowden was our QB.

We didn't play Tenn in 78. That was my freshman year. You may be thinking of 77. I think we played them in Gville that year.

This just might be the winner. Thank you for your service! :emoji_clap::emoji_clap::emoji_clap:
I didn't have Gator parents, so my first game was my freshman year. Similar to @g8rboy, but one year earlier - 1988.

Montana St - Galen Hall, Emmitt Smith and we won 69-0. The Gators won five in a row to open the season, including victories over Ole Miss, MS St, and LSU. Then we lost four in a row, beginning with Memphis St (they were St back then) and @ Vandy. Emmitt got hurt, all 10k Vandy fans were doing the chomp at us, and we lost the next two against Aub/UGA.

Losing those games made the CoS (coming of Spurrier) so exciting. We got to the point where only Auburn and FSU could break our hearts . . . and did. Getting to the pinnacle on 1/2/97 was so amazingly sweet.

But many of you were there for 0-10-1, 1980 UGA, and games from the more distant pass. Props for your Gator longevity! :alligator::emoji_thumbsup:
Cool thread, btw. It's fun reminiscing about my earliest Gator years and learning about y'alls.
