Sedona if you can get directs to Phoenix. Seattle isn't south but might be a good option

We just booked the Marriott. Flying to PHX, staying a couple nights in Tucson, then a night in Phoenix. Any good restaurant suggestions for a Wed night in Phx? How about things to do in Phx on Friday night? We will be in Tucson Wed/Thurs night. Gonna hang at the resort & maybe do one part-day getaway.
If we were to see one Tucson landmark, should we go to Willow Canyon?

Where in Phoenix are you staying? Near the airport? There's a Culinary Dropout in Tempe that is close and very good.

In Tucson, the Marriott is an amazing property. Saguaro National Park West is basically the back yard. I'm sure the concierge will have plenty of things to do, but I'd check out the Sonoran Desert Museum. Half museum and half zoo. Old Tucson Movie Studios is also fun, and where many old westerns were filmed.

You can also take the quick drive to The Mission San Xavier del Bac, a Spanish Mission Church built in 1798 that is still active. Down that way is also the Titan Missile Museum, the nicer casino in the area, and The Pecan Store, a small store located on the property of a large pecan grove. Love the pecan turtles, pecan with caramel covered in chocolate.

Last, everyone in Tucson has a favorite Mexican restaurant. I'd suggest one of these three. El Charro downtown, El Minuto, next to the convention center, or Mi Nidito in S. Tucson.

Hope you have a good time.

Will be there in 2 weeks. Go every year for a week. A welcome break from F-L-A. A couple of days in Highlands also. Great drive!

    Davis,

I used to live in the Fort Myers area and looked forward to this festival every year.

Every year in October, the club organizes Munich in Cape Coral. The Cape Coral Oktoberfest is the largest party of the year in the community! It is THE event for fun, good food, freshly poured domestic and German beer, live music on several stages, laughter, dancing – with or without the chicken hat -simply put – it’s that famous German Gemütlichkeit.

Join us for this year’s Oktoberfest for two big weekends of fun
    October 19 – 21 and October 26 – 28, 2018

    #CapeOktoberfest

If you love food, dance, fun, fellowship, and a whole lot of entertainment.....this is well worth considering:

    Cape Coral Oktoberfest

While you are there....there are some nice areas to visit such as Sanibel and Captiva Islands - and Estero Beach - with the pier.

Thanks Bazz :emoji_thumbsup:. I went to HS in Naples. While I did my first tour in Hogtown, Mom moved to Ft. Meyers (behind the Bell Tower) and later to Cape Coral. Spent much time in that area. Will be good to go back one day, but I won't recognize it!

Btw, 2 people just murdered in the Bell Tower shops, 2 others injured. Happens everywhere tho.

Ate at The Parish on our way into Tucson. Great southern w nice atmosphere and beer options. Two nights at the Marriott resort were terrific. Visited Sonoran desert museum today and grabbing a bite at Culinary Dropout in Tempe. Thnx for the tips!
