Let’s see how smart Smart is when he doesn’t have a roster loaded with seniors.

I'm talking the quality and trajectory of his individual passes. They really fly and spin. Matt Ryan can't throw it like that. Obviously Fromm has a ways to go to completely master the college and eventually pro game, but he is starting with great arm talent.

That year was deceiving. We were not nearly as good as our record indicated.

Not better than pros but he specifically said some NFL QBs, and I agree. Kizer? Cutler? Siemian? Trubisky? Fromm throws better. Franks almost throws better.

I thought that Kirby Smart was a very Smart choice for Georgia.

There is absolutely no comparison with Muschamp, who's 2nd year team had major difficulty moving the ball consistently on anyone, and Smart's team this year.

Draw your solace from false beliefs if you want, but the future will not prove to be Muschamp-like for Georgia I'm betting.

We ranked 5th in total defense and 103rd in total offense that year.

I think Dan Quinn had a lot to do with the success in 2012 .

I will not defend Muschamp but I will defend that fantastic team.

It was one of our best non- championship teams ever.

Did we give up after the UGA loss? I think so. Until the FSU game, we clearly played differently after the UGA game.
And that is a black mark against this team's character.

But if you look at the body of work, it is amazing...
    • We played 4 teams that finished in the top 10- beating 3 of them. We played 7 total top 25 teams that year, going 5-2.
    • We played LSU, Vandy (who finished the year ranked #23), USC (only lost 1 other game that year), and UGA IN CONSECUTIVE WEEKS. FSU also only lost one other game that year.
    • Our only regular season loss was UGA, who was a literal 5 yards from an SEC and probable national title. To make matters more challenging, the UGA game was at the end of that 4 game gauntlet.
In contrast to our very difficult schedule, Bama this year played only 1 top 10 team before the playoff, and they lost that game. UGA also played only 1 top 10 team (twice), also going 1-1. Again, in contrast, we played four. And went 3-1.
Even counting the playoff, Bama only played 5 ranked teams. We played 7.

I'm sure many fans are saying "But Muschamp..."
    I will counter- DAN QUINN.

Think about our well our defense was coached with Quinn at the helm.
The very next year Quinn coached the Seattle D to a Super Bowl title.
And then just 3 years later coached Atlanta into a Super Bowl.

Quinn was/is a phenomenal coach- and he was our DC in 2012.

Same could be said of McElwain "success" , Muschamp's defenses allowed him win the East - still say had
Muschamp hired and let the right OC run an offense he'd still be at Florida with an NC.

Muschamp's second year was better than Kirby's.

5-2 vs ranked teams compared to 3-2
Did not get blown out in his regular season loss. Lost because of unforced fumbles. Mistakes by Florida cost them the game, Georgia just held on and got insanely luck on the Reed fumble at the end.
If a playoff, we got in as well. Probably cared more than the Louisville nightmare.

Then fell apart. Can very easily happen to Smart.
