Well the bible doesn't support life begins at conception. That is a modern nonsense position.

What's really import is that they are calling it a Christmas party. Trump said no one was saying "Christmas" before he got elected and made people say it. Huge win for Jesus, there.

Sounds way more fun than an anti-abortion party.

As liberal as I can be and support an appropriate right to choose, abortions shouldn’t be celebrated. This group is out of line. Period. Full stop.

Curing cancer is magical. Abortions are not.

Cleaning human shit and used needles off the streets of SF and Seattle are socially good as well.

But do you find them magical?

It never mentions it, but holding a position is not nonsense, as neither side can swear one way or the other.

The Bible does say, God knew us before we were formed in the mother's womb, which most of us take as meaning we had identities before birth.

I know you and I disagree on such things and I am not trying to debate as much as point out why we believe what we do.

At least another thread wasn't hijacked in the making of this thread.

Honestly, doesn't really prove much. If you want to go that route, an argument consistent with that quote would be that the god knew your soul, and the soul enters at birth ... which is more consistent with the older Christian beliefs and quotes in the bible that the soul is "breathed in" ... fetus don't breath.

Throwing Abortion parties is just wrong IMO, an abortion is like an impeachment, a solemn, sad event.

I'm not anti-abortion, but calling an abortion "magical" is one of the craziest things I've heard in a long time.

It is THE most divisive issue in America. I no longer debate it with anyone, just as I won't debate one's faith or lack thereof. Every other issue in America can be debated, and, among people of good will, common ground can be found. Not with abortion.

While I see what you are saying. I respectfully disagree to some extent. I think stronger restrictions and parental notification would be a good common ground start...while understanding a mothers health and safety are also a factor.

Where the two sides will never agree is the middle. The place where unborn babies are aborted just for convinience.

    That is my line.

The Bible is not a good source for arguing against abortion or "killing babies." God himself killed the newborn son of David and Bathsheba. Now let's talk about "compassion."

The old Testament (especially) was written from perspective. Meaning from David's perspective (guilt) all the bad in his life was caused by his sin. And it may indeed have been a consequence of his actions. Perhaps the young child had a birth defect caused by something genetic. This would in a round about way be becaise of David's affair.

The OT also quotes Ezekiel when it says:
The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him. Ezekiel 18:20

Nothing in the nature of God as told by Jesus would lead me to believe that some of the violent things in the OT that the writers attributed were actually God's acts of violence.

Jesus would not even allow Peter to lift a sword to save his (Jesus') life.
