Wyatt now moving up to AAA. He had an amazing week in AA. What a story.

Crews on the other hand has cooled off since being promoted to AA. Will be interesting to see how this story unfolds in the coming years.

    Skeanes was shut down.

In his first game for Triple A Round Rock batting in the #2 spot, he is currently 3/4 with a double after 6 innings. He will get another at bat.

    He finished 4-5.

Not bad for a third string catcher.

MLB is a cold blooded business. The move to AAA ball is a no-brainer after the AA season is over. Being inserted into the starting line-up can mean many things. It could be that they like him and want to get him as many reps as possible in his development. Or it could be that they are showcasing him for trade bait. Or it could be both if the right deal is offered.

Trade bait makes some sense, but wouldn't that imply they're giving up on their to draft pick who is performing so well? I like Rangers well enough because Dunning is doing so well there, but there are plenty other teams I could cheer for. I strongly agree with your opening sentence.

The Rangers have been around a long time and have never won a World Series. Maybe they don't have the smartest guys running the team.

And not giving up on Wyatt but maybe somebody might give up a really good player based on what Wyatt has done so far.

You don’t spend the 4th pick of the draft on a player and then proceed to pay him over $8 million dollars just to trade him.

Teams make dumb trades all the time. Why did the Reds ever trade Frank Robinson? And the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees for cash and not Norm Cash.

The Rangers are in a dog fight for a divisional title and unlikely as a wild card. Maybe getting an established star to get them over the hump and a couple of good prospects for the future might be a deal too hard to pass off.

Yeah, Langford looks like the real deal but sometimes teams need to win NOW and not in the future.

Don't the Rangers need a left fielder?

Ah memories. For some reason I recall having Ernie Broglio s baseball card as a kid. Think he went 21-9 or something close. (A wealth of useless info in the memory banks)

First year jump from single to double to triple A ball. Does not often happen for a hitter in first year of pro ball Not trading a player that could be in the lineup for 15 years.
