(I felt like we needed a "wow" thread.)
Not to be over analytical or Have a knee-jerk reaction, but I’m quite certain that I am thoroughly disappointed.
It is difficult to beat a team that hardly misses its 3 pointers. A very dissapointing loss.
Sure hope Mike White is selling cars at this time next year.
Coach Mike White = Coach Will Muschamp
I think you botched the initials at the end there. Otherwise, very clever.
I picked tonight to go back to watching games live, lucky me.
Every single shot (literally) Glover took was a bad one, and his punishment was more playing time (which may have been a punishment tonight.
Just about Every shot nembhard took outside of his first one was bad.
We waited until 3 minutes left to pick up full court.
We had four front ends of 1-1s and
Missed three of them by my count, including 2 when we were down 11 and could have put real pressure on them.
We have one legitimate inside post threat and he is busy jacking up threes.
We have no legit 2-3 to go to to slow the game down when we have to, just the 1-3-1 which has now been figured out by the last few teams we have played.
We let Missouri hit 12 of their first 17 threes, and never came close to matching their intensity. In fact it looked
Like we all but quit when we couldn’t get it under 10.
We couldn’t defend a simple post pass tonight, Payne has potential but he is a not a good defender right now.
12 beat us off the dribble about 20 times and I dont remember us ever putting Scottie on him (though I could be wrong).
And to top all of that off, mizzou played out of their heads.
Result equals but whipping and reckoning for this team, it’s pretty much now or never. After Ole Miss it is Auburn LSU and Baylor in a row. Season could be all but over in two weeks if they don’t figure it out.
Gators turn in a dud effort on the road. Sleep walking in the first half on defense. Missouri wasn’t gonna let Nembhard beat them and this team goes as Nembhard goes. Lewis plays hard on defense but he gets outmuscled by bigger players. White is lost on offense, but it seemed like his teams always can be counted on for good defense. This game was just a poor showing on both ends of the floor. Oh well, it doesn’t surprise me anymore. Top ten in talent but can’t sniff the top 25 in rankings. Makes me wonder what a great coach could accomplish with this team. Or even a decent coach for that matter.
Then due to the weather, the team has to stay in Missouri for an extra night. lol
Can I buy you a DVR?
Say what you will, it's a poor product.
Most of those there’s were open and in rhythm. They still shot exceedingly well, but almost any team would have had a good night against us.
well.....going for every shot fake sure makes it much easier for the shooter to hit the shot. Often times the Missouri player would catch, shot fake, watch our guy fly up in the air take a dribble to the side and have a wide-open three pointer.
We've lacked discipline vs pump fakes all season.
Poorly coached in that regard for sure. We've fouled on three point attempts far too often during the MW era. If they were coached any better they wouldn't ever leave their feet on 3-point shooters. There's nothing worse in basketball than handing out 3 free throws just because you're an idiot who thinks you can block a 3-point shooter. Put your hand up and go for the rebound. Jumping not only puts you at risk for a stupid foul, but now you're useless on the boards.
Guess they didn't want to win Mike White's 100th game on the road. lol
I think the writing is on the wall for Mike White. Nice guy and a great recruiter! He just is a horrible coach and evaluator of staff competency. I still think positive about this season, but that is the fan in me. Realistically, teams are coming out every game and playing super confident against a team that has more talent because of our dysfunctional coaching staff and inability on their part to get any team let alone this one motivated on a consistent basis
Seems like a little karma.
One of the rare occasions I turned a Gator game off before it was over.
I wonder where we are on the luck meter this year. Teams shooting above their mean. Has to be off the charts after this game.
Though, if it continues to happen to the same team, is it really luck? Or just systemically poor defense
Good. They can watch film all night. Let that game sink in and fester. No TV or relaxing. Just film session. All night long.
And you're not boxing out on a miss, so allows the shooter to follow his shot.
