Temple’s Quincy Roche says that transferring is the best decision for him and his family
Looks like a great get for some team but DE is not a big need for UF.
"This season, Roche had 49 tackles, including 19 tackles for losses and 13 sacks."
I don't know about you but if this guy could get us 13 sacks and 19 tackles for loss, he's a definite take for me. I get he's in the AAC but if he could get better with another year and handle the SEC then he deserves a chance.
They already took Cox in this role on top of Bogle and Summerall and just added Powell. It's more about the schollie limits at this point, especially for a one and done transfer who played against fairly weak competition.
He's probably a decent player, but half his sacks and a third of his tackles came in 2 games: vs Tulane and USF.
Roche is an absolute stud.
Does anyone know where cox will play next year? Could be strong side or I’ve even heard mike.
Is roche a buck or bigger DE like Zuniga and carter?
If Cox isn’t a strong side DE then we have Carter and Chatfield next year. Carter may play DT and we haven’t seen much of Chatfield.
He is about 6'4 240
Cox is a speed guy but has decent size. Might be able to use him on the strong side with Bogle coming off the other edge when we need to get extra pressure on the QB. We did that a few times this year with Greenard on the strong side and Moon at Buck. I think Carter needs to stay at SSDE. Chatfield is awfully short to be a DE. I'm hoping he becomes a DT. I'd like to see Dante Lang move back to DE which was his primary position in high school. He could probably play on either side.
Roche looks like a strong side DE. If so, he could be a valuable backup but I don't know if he would be willing to transfer to be a backup for the final season of his career.
This kid will end up at GT with Collins
