Gators Charge Up Leaderboard Before Final Day of Gator Invite
    Lucy Berres UF Sports
The UF women's golf team sits in second place heading into the final round of the Florida Gators Invitational.

    Coach's Take
"I thought we battled really well today. There were a few times where we played a little tight or didn't take advantage of some opportunities. But we had a nice finish towards the end which is a great sign of toughness on a long 36-hole day. Miami played outstanding in the morning but we were able to make up a few in the second round. It's going to be a very exciting finish tomorrow and a great opportunity for our team." –Head Coach Emily Glaser

Gators Continue Conference Play with Two-Match Road Swing This Weekend

Women's tennis set for matchups at Arkansas and at Missouri
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 45 University of Florida women's tennis team returns to the court this weekend, March 8-10, when it hits the road for back-to-back contests away from Gainesville. Leg one of the trip begins in Fayetteville, Ark. with a matchup with the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday at 6 p.m. ET and the journey concludes Sunday in Columbia, Mo. as the Gators battle the Missouri Tigers at 2 p.m.

UF is back in action following a 1-1 start in its first SEC weekend of the season. Opening the conference slate at home, Florida earned a 4-1 win over Ole Miss, but fell in a tight one to Mississippi State, 4-3.

Florida features three singles players in the ITA top 125 as the sophomore trio of No. 12 Ida Jarlskog, No. 43 McCartney Kessler and No. 52 Victoria Emma has all cracked the rankings.

UF now down in all 6 first sets. I keep being surprised how bad things are getting....would think I might adjust expectations at some point

4 first set losses, Emma digs deep and wins hers, Zein in a tiebreak.

Looks like UF is going to have to win 3 of 4 at #3 thru #6 on the road. Hats off to the girls if they can pull it off.

Emma playing better, Zein looks to be a toss up, Dimitrova in control of her second set, and Kartinov even in her second

Ida and Kessler show nothing in their matches

It almost feels like a season saving (relatively speaking) situation. Lose this on the heels of the MSU match and the wheels are off. Win and you at least temporarily feel like progress being made. It's also a match you need if you have any goal of making postseason

Arky only returned their #5 and #6 players this year. Impressive results with so little experience by their new coach who coached Dimitrova at Houston last year.

Yep...you can transform a roster fast with a top coach that can bring in elite talent

Feeling like this one comes down to Zein, which is scary

Kharitonov collapses in her second, had a lead then never wins another game. Arky up 3-2
Dimitrova dominated her second set, seems to have hit her stride.
Zein at 2-2, I'm guessing both players are pushing

Fortunately, it won't be the first time that she has been in this situation this season.

This team seems to have a hard time firing on all cylinders at the same time.

Course Dimitrova is quickly down in her third, and Zein down a break in her second

Since all but 2 matches are finished, the Arky coach can focus on those 2 matches and she knows Dimitrova's weaknesses.

    Dimitova goes up 5-3 but can't finish...now 5-5
Zein loses 2 in a row, down 1-2
