How are recruiting the last couple of years has been pretty good and probably as good as we can expect.

 

Napier isn't flashy and he told you it would take awhile. I think we're in a much better place than under any coach since Meyer. The facilities are much better. The portal and NIL are 2 huge factors to fight through.

 

And so far we are on a 7 to 15 budget. We should expect to be competitive with the seventh through the 15th team. we should be fighting for a playoff spot every year, but not expecting one.

 

Just like now with Napier we weren’t paying the top guys during DM tenure. If he would’ve been at gump u, they would’ve had top 5 classes anyway. Dumb to blame head coach for poor recruiting unless he and/or other coaches are just such aholes guys won’t play for them despite the money.

 

I just can't believe the middle of the sec is the best we can do.

 

Buy some players. How is is hard to believe we are in the middle as far as payroll.

DM had some of those guys. He could offset it to some degree with his offense, but in the end it got him.

 

What got him (in addition to us not buying “enough” top players like the gumps and mutts) was hiring 2 incompetent aholes in Grantham and Hevesy. IMO. And sadly he will probably wind up with a better winning % than Napier when Napier leaves Florida.

I agree with this, but neither of us are 18-19 years old and our years of experience have given us this perspective. If I was that age and probably didn’t have much growing up, I would likely sell myself to the highest bidder and wouldn’t think twice about it until perhaps I got really homesick or something else.

 

That was them. His UNLV team was struggling against Idaho State yesterday after his repeated shots at UF, so I won't concern myself with Mullen v. Napier.

Personally I don’t blame DM for wanting out. But then again I’m no fan of the higher ups who have been running UF. I predicted in 2021 if we could not keep him/fired him we were heading for mediocrity. Unless we win more than 8 this year I think that will continue. Gotta admit I was pretty shocked when I found out they hired Napier. He may have cleaned up the culture and upgraded the talent but I don’t think it’s enough to offset his subpar game day coaching but hopefully I’m wrong and it will.
