It looks like Florida has established a hard floor on recruiting with Napier. Even with a stacked roster and 3 years of mediocre results, we have a great recruiting class so far. The recruits really like and trust him, and that helps us where money is not conclusively our advantage. Contrast this to the debacles of OU and AU in our conference this year. Not many want to jump on those teams despite long history of success in the past.

I haven't seen this posted on this site, but Womack's sister (Ma'Nia Womack) plays Softball for Auburn which is one of the major reasons for this choice. The other site also claims that his stongest relationship with Coaches is with our Safeties Coach Vinnie Sunseri. So........................... if Auburn has a crummy season a flip to Florida would be possible/

Pure speculation....unless of course you have knowledge that the corndogs are embezzling from the local Children's Hospital to "supplement" their players NIL opportunities.

If you're relying on expenditure #'s from On3 or the like then you should be aware that they are extremely suspect. Until a significant portion comes directly from the Universities (public ones will have to disclose the information), then there is no way to be sure what each school is spending because its coming from private 3rd party organizations. Those organizations have no obligation to release the information and they just might have an incentive to lie. Additionally, as long as NIL's and "3rd party" deals exist, nobody will ever be sure how much a roster is getting paid during any particular period of time.

George McClellan was masterful in putting together a professional Union Army of the Potomac, he just loved it so much that he never used it to win battles and was replaced. The beauty is in the results. Its time to see them.

I get your point, but my post was in direct response to a slam on Billy’s recruiting. What he does with it this year is critical, but his recruiting has been stellar, particularly under the circumstances

Youre talking about a school that stole funds from a children's hospital for their football program all the while they had buildings on campus falling apart as well. Never underestimate the depravity of some of these football programs. Its all about priorities.

What you say is a compliment and an indictment at the same time. People are crazy if they think Napier isn't a great recruiter considering our performance and lack of NIL comparatively. Im not a hater but the flipside is he hasn't been a good gameday coach very much all things considered. That has to change. Crazy to think how much better we could do recruiting with just a little supportive results and momentum to carry into an offseason

I would argue that it’s early to call it masterful. I do like what he’s done but the next season or so will be the big barometer as to how far we’ve come. Remember, there are still a lot of recruiting advantages at UF besides the team’s record.

Absolutely. An earlier post contained this statement:

Billy does not seem to be the recruiting dynamo we all hoped for.

It is that statement that prompted my response. What he does with it this season is critical to his success as our coach, but as a recruiter he is doing a great job - particularly under the circumstances

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say his recruiting has been masterful, considering he’s hamstrung with a 19-19 record coming off 15 years of mediocrity.

Billy has a chance to put 19 and 19 in the rear view mirror and prove his master plan pays dividends.

Winning will silence a good % of the doubters.

Spot the ball, let's see what happens!

Money may not be the only factor, but it’s certainly front and center. Those refusing to acknowledge it just don’t want to acknowledge their role in it. It’s much easier to just say the coach is a poor recruiter than it is to get personally involved in the bidding process which you are welcome to do if you want more access to the numbers.

All other things being close to equal, a player will choose to make $200k more per year of course. But what for money are they choosing another school, $50, $5000, $50,000, $250,000 ?

You might feel NIL has hurt our recruiting because we do not have the funds to be competitive, which could be true. From my POV, we are recruiting about as well with NIL as since 2016.
