Stated above: “Im sure some of our more racist fans won’t like that he got Tebow’s old number.”

I’m sorry you are sure of and project a racist world view. Really, it’s sad that some folks are determined to provoke enmity.

I posted the OP over here in Too Hot because I thought it might start a discussion about.............guns. Racial implications never entered my mind.

I don't think he will be rapid fire Trask like, but I do think he will be very hard to stop. He is a smaller Cam Newton. I expect him to take the QB spot by mid year. He is a beast.

I can definitely see some local NIL opportunities in this number change.

Ha! No, I've been in here on and off for years. And over that time, I've had to send out similar messages to people. I'll happily discuss/argue/debate pretty much anything (including defending positions I don't believe in as a "Devil's Advocate") as long as the discourse is civil. I refuse to be dragged down to the level of name-calling or personal attacks. Political discourse should be an exercise in learning and understanding different people with varied points of view, not in hatred and scoreboard watching.

I read your thread title and it was the first thing that popped into my mind as it made no mention of his nickname or guns. And this is too hot after all. That’s the reason I said it. Didn’t mean to cause an uproar.

Probably one of the most honest and candid posts on THFSG. Thank you.

Its tough to retire numbers in cfb because of roster size. You already see duplicates as it is. Imagine if 7, 11, and 15 were all unavailable.

With all that being said, the first person I ever looked up to other than my parents was DW. I still have a hard time seeing anyone wear #7 in O&B. Jesse Palmer was the first guy that caught the stink eye from me.
