Yeah, I hate retiring numbers. I like that some numbers have significance and are "earned." Better way to honor the past, I think.

You’ve got some serious reading comprehension problems. I said some of our more racist fans won’t like it. I didn’t say anyone who doesn’t like it is racist.

And you need to modify your tone with me. I asked the question because that's how I read it. And I've been called racist before by others whom I disagreed politically with (those that know me know it couldn't be further from the truth) so it's a bit of a sensitive spot for me. If that's not how you intended it, that's fine. But you can keep the personal attacks out of this please.

He needs to improve his accuracy and recognition. Those things are coachable. Rocket arm, 6'4", 235 pounds with 4.5 speed, are not. Neither Del-Rio nor Kitna will ever be dangerous runners. If we're lucky, AR will improve his accuracy and his ability to read coverages. He has the highest upside of any QB on the roster.

No one has even mentioned Emory Jones, the presumed starter. :)

To go full football, I think Del Rio has a chance to be a memorable QB for Florida.

Right! Didn’t people say the same things about Cam Newton?

Not related to the other del Rios. whew!

Watched some HS highlight videos. What is remarkable is his arsenal of throws. He can lob it, throw a fade and launch it into tight coverage also. While not a pure runner does have nice mobility.

I could see gun control advocates looking unfavorably on the nickname. I personally think it’s pretty awesome.
NIL contract with Colt or some other manufacturer?

Stereotype much? I guess because Richardson is black, he is a running QB and can’t throw the football.

Have you ever seen the kid play other than the mop-up duty he got last season throwing just two passes? Maybe you lived in Gainesville and saw Richardson play in HS or maybe you had access to UF practices last year but if you didn’t, you have no real idea how well Richardson can throw the football. And at 6’and 230 lbs, he sure doesn’t have running back size so whether he is successful or not, he will be a “QB trying to throw the football.”

Former NBA player, Andre Kirelinko, was #47, and his nickname was AK47. And he was Russian.

I remember AK47. He was married to a Russian pop star who gave him permission to cheat on her once per year.

You do realize that no one was talking about race until you brought the race card into the thread....right?

You can't make a broad sweeping statement and then be upset when asked to clarify your statement.

If a fan doesn't think AR has earned the right to wear the number of one of the all time great QBs in college football history, does that thought alone make them racist? No, it doesn't.

If an individual makes everything about race, then they're the racist. Think about it and think about the direction this thread went after your post.

He was specifically talking about a subset of racist Gator fans (who do exist, whether you want to admit it or not). Anyone who doesn't fall into that subset should not be offended. Hit dogs will definitely holler tho...

I didn’t make a broad sweeping statement. You too seem to be struggling with reading comprehension.
