51, Tilly - Persons of color (or any race / creed) that decide to break and enter, loot, steal, burn and pillage, especially in their own community, are making a terrible mistake. Locals businesses should not suffer the consequences of police actions, in addition to the fact it's breaking the law.

Nevertheless City is absolutely correct. Self flagellation or mutilation is what it amounts to. I would like to think we all agree that our society could "do better" when it comes to situations like this no matter party.

Personally speaking I see only failure at play here. Failure - white police offers choking a man out, literally to death. Failure - that a community is so frustrated that individuals literally burn down their "own" businesses.

My personal belief is Americans are better than this. We need to have empathy, we need to support each other. Breakin heads is not the way to solidarity.

I understand the anger leading to destruction of property but looting is just taking advantage of a chaotic situation. It's just stealing with extra steps.

So they kneeled and protested peacefully and people get pissed off. They loot and riot and people get pissed off. I'm beginning to see the problem here.

That about sums it up. Don't want thugs and miscreants to riot/loot? Then tell cops to stop killing people. I think it's a rather simple equation. Shrug.

One of the buildings burned down was an under-construction low-income housing project.
Minneapolis vandalism targets include 189-unit affordable housing development

I'm not sure if it was govt subsidized, but it was to be income contingent.

So build out this PC explanation a bit. You figure that media members are just too darn deferential to minorities? Or just the ones that commit crimes? PC is utilized as a euphemism, so let's cut it with the euphemisms and discuss what your specific theory is.

Why don't you say what it is you are accusing me of?
I saw more than minorities in that video.

So, I googled looting in Minneapolis & then chose news. NYT, CNN, Minny NPR etc. ALL explicitly mention looting, arson, etc. &, I did not even click on the stories...it was in the first sentence or 2. Methinks the 51 tail is wagging the dog.

I don't have a big a problem with the "protesters" as I have with some news networks who seem to be instigating this. I'm talking news networks showing buildings burning and people running out of Target with goods in hand and calling it a demonstration or a protest. It is an invitation for more. Call it what it is, tell it like it is. I don't want my news spoon fed to me.
