Why do the Dogs get the easy schedule every year and we get the hardest?

Why? Who makes these schedules? Playing LSU then $cum on the road, then Texas and back on the road to A&M is likely a 2-2. It is a setup for early injuries. It seems like this occurs every year. Meanwhile, the puppies, yet again, get plenty of home games against their weak draw. Besides buying last year's championship, Ohio State's nonconference schedule was four cupcakes. The Noles would agree (they won two NCs using this strategy). Scheduling means everything. Why?

The SEC makes our schedule and the LegHumpers'. Certain teams are consistently favored, it seems . . . but a lot of things in life happen in cycles so maybe its that. Since I can't do anything about it, I hope that getting through a super-tough schedule prepares Florida the best for the play-offs.

The SEC is either corrupt or just incompetent. Making a schedule shouldn’t be this hard. We are about to play at A&M for the 4th time since expansion. The dwags have never played there. There is no way this makes sense.

Just another example of the SEC screwing over Florida every chance they get. It's one of the reason I pretty much hate the SEC and don't understand the SEC, SEC, SEC chant and many Gator fans always pulling for other SEC teams. I'm a lifelong Gator fan, but can't stand the SEC.

I understand the angst with the SEC. It’s hard to rationalize the placement of open dates that never seem to favor us and the disparity in number of times we have had to travel to Texas A&M compared to Georgia (although I’m not sure it’s 4-0) is mind boggling. But the difficulty of our schedule is also a result of our own choice of out of conference games.
I pull for the SEC teams simply because I don’t want conferences like the BIG and, God forbid, ACC to crow about us being a weaker league. And they will: Ad nauseum.

Playing the SEC schedule sure paid off in hoops. We were surely tournament ready. Sorry, I know we are talking football but I’m still in the glow of our NC!

Well we could be Indiana playing the easiest schedule and having an undefeated regular season and then getting humbled when we actually play somebody in the playoffs.

With the SEC or the NCAA this is not a mutually exclusive condition.

First, whatever benefits the mighty Gators the most, that is who I pull for. Otherwise, for me, it depends on the sport, except for Ga and UT, who I never want to win anything in any sport. Football, I pretty much pull for everybody but those two, even Alabama. Basketball- never UK, baseball never LSU and sometimes MSU.

Got a soft spot for Aubs, cause my kids went there and had a great experience so I pull for them as my number 2. But watching that FF, my kids pulled for Aubs while I was pulling for my Gators- but I remained on good behavior!

Georgia and UT?? They could lose every game in every sport male or female - and it still wouldn’t be enough. Same with the Noles - but I digress.

I do have a ton of SEC pride, mainly because I live in Tally and it drives my Nolie friends crazy. They are so envious of our league.

I think we make for good TV ratings on nonrivalry weeks. We have always had tough schedules. We are what makes college football worth watching. Why wouldn't they want us against the better teams?

Good games fill the stands with vastly more expensive tickets too. Those games get prime tv slots.

Great points. I have a soft spot for LSU softball because their coach is an ex-Gator. I pull for UCF (not SEC of course, but most Gators hate them) because my son and his wife are both alumni. But I will NEVER pull for Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M or Oklahoma in any sport in any game no matter who they play. But, to each his own.

    IDK...
We both play Texas, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Miss State, Kentucky, and each other...6 games where things are even.
So now we have 6 games where our schedules diverge.

Let's separate that into 2 categories- since we control the OOC schedule but not the SEC slate.
I'll bold who is the harder game IMO

    SEC games...
    Florida Georgia
    LSU Auburn
    TAMU Bama

    IMO that's a draw...
So it wasn't the SEC who screwed us.

Let's look at our OOC then...

    Florida Georgia
    patsy (LIU) patsy (Austin Peay)
USF (7-6 last year) Marshall (10-3 last year)
FSU (2-10 last year) Georgia Tech (7-6 last year)
    Miami (10-3) patsy (Charlotte)

final verdict- the schedules are roughly equal, with us having a slight disadvantage because we scheduled Miami.
So that's the real difference-but didn't we do that to ourselves???

In conclusion- it wasn't the SEC or the NCAA who screwed us...
It was us. (We have met the enemy..)

Exactly. Uf and uga have virtually identical SEC schedules. Ours may be considered tougher because we play highly ranked UGA and they play UF lol.
Both teams typically play a couple of cupcakes and end the season with an in state ACC rival. Both teams mix in another semi ACC rival every so often in Miami/Clemson. But non conference is our doing, no big conspiracy in Birmingham.
And I still remain baffled at the complaints we have played TAMU more than Georgia .....since TAMU hasn't been all that good AND UF has pretty much avoided the power of the conference in Alabama over that same time frame. Gators haven’t been to Tuscaloosa in over a decade.....somehow our fans seem to overlook that when complaining
