WILLIS, Texas — There was a particular turning point in DJ Lagway’s recruitment. It came when the five-star quarterback from Willis, Texas, was attending Florida’s home game against Kentucky on Sept. 10. He and his father, Derek, were on the field pregame when they started to hear the chants. They grew louder. And louder. And louder.

“Lagway to The Swamp. Lagway to The Swamp. Lagway to The Swamp.”

This was a high school junior on the field at an SEC stadium. By that time in his recruitment, Lagway knew he was going to have an offer from virtually every major college football program in the country. The moment still froze in time. Minutes later, Gators legend Tim Tebow emerged onto the field. The fans stopped their chanting, instead using their energy to direct the former Heisman Trophy winner to work his magic on Lagway.

“I played college football,” said Derek, a running back at Baylor from 1997 through 2001. “I’ve never seen anything like that.”

I have caught the "DJ" bug myself and would like to think he is the next "Great One" at UF under center. Seems like the same caliber of kid as Bryce Young.

Someone could hypothetically install Ublock Origin browser extension.

Then hypothetically click "element zapper" mode when installed then click on popups to have those features eliminated from the page.

Reminds me a little of Jalen Hurts who was a hard working physical runner and came off humble. (I assume still is in nfl? Idk).

Has he signed yet? I mean his NIL deal. Scholarship offers don't seem to matter as much any more. Only ten more months until we know for sure. Hope we can actually have a winning season this year so he doesn't start to listen to others talking in his ear. Believe it or not I am trying to be positive here but college football just isn't the same any more.

I believe texas has similar laws to Florida where HS kids can't sign NIL deals either, that was part of the reason ewers went to osu before trasnfering to texas.

I wonder if it passes if the deal is done in another state? If not, here is where the bags come into play.

Don't know if being sarcastic. Jalen is the qb for one of the team's playing in the SB.

I don't know what you're talking about :) . . . but someone could also just send me a PM if they don't understand browser extensions or how to use them. Folks do that frequently so don't worry about it.
