But the Obamas did not endorse her in their statement. Theirs said “We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.”
Barack Obama actually feels that it is important for him to stay out of internal Democratic politics publicly. He never endorsed Hillary until after Bernie didn't have the delegates. He didn't endorse Biden until the primary was over. But his people are already interviewing for jobs with Harris. That is not accidental. The people who need to know, know.
That’s not right. There are a lot of people who would only vote for Trump because they don’t feel Biden is competent to serve another term. That conundrum has now been eliminated for them
Senator Tom Kelly, not governor. And no, he will not be the VP candidate unless Shapiro turns it down. The Dems will need to win Pennsylvania or cannot win the election.
She has no prayer. However, the reason for getting Biden to step aside now is to avoid the down ticket losses that would eventually mount if Democrats refused to go vote. The best Harris can do is to try and help save the Senate from a Fascist take over which would give "The Party" a strange hold on all 3 branches of the government and usher in the darkest period in our nation's history since slavery was first enshrined as legal.
I don’t necessarily think Pete B is the optimum pick for either part of the ticket, but he is definitely my favorite. He is sharp as a tack and can spar with anybody in any setting. How often do you see someone monopolize a conversation with Bill Maher like that? Also he comes across as very real. Straightforward, he doesn’t talk down to you, but still has a bit of Midwest sensibility about him.
She will be the nominee. For all intent and purposes she is right now. Gretchen Witmer and Gavin Newsome are not going to challenge her at this point. No one else matters. Sure, some nut-ball fringe lefty may cry foul, but no one who has a real shot of ever winning the nomination.
Yeah, always thought that the only way it is not Harris is if it looked like it was Harris' decision.
TheGator: there was a reason why she finished last in Democratic primaries. She is not suited for this role ….at all. She may be a fine attorney, etc., etc. but she is just not good at politics & apparently awful with staff, considering all the resignations. Unfortunately, for the Democrats, they didn’t have a choice here.
Given Biden's endorsement, it's pretty much a done deal that Harris will be the nominee. And she has a very good chance of beating Trump.
