Starting to think, hate saying this that Napier is a legit crackhead.

the only time that game was close was when montrell went 70 yards to make it 17-10.
But then next possession, miami drove 75 yards to go up 24-10 -- games over.

our first half possessions after an entire off season to prepare for 1 game:

    5 plays punt
    6 plays field goal
    5 plays, loss on downs
    3 plays punt
    1 play, TD
    1 play end of half

Disgusting -- nothing was close about that game. It was over at 24-10 in the first half

It makes sense if "you just know" a block here, no penalty here, a completion here changes things....

The problem is that is the same for every coach and every team. He just knows he was successful at Louisiana doing Uit this way and it will happen. He underestimated everything which, shame on me I assumed since he had been at Clemson and Alabama he would have known that despite coming from the sun belt as a head coach.

Its not just that "Football is King" mantra. Its more like "Football is King because it pays the bills". An empty Swamp does not pay the bills. That is what they appear to fundamentally misunderstand over at the UAA. If they want to keep the minor sports going gangbusters they better be prepared to feed the beast. If they don't, long-term, it will all shrivel and die.

Every bad coach in America trots out those same tired lines every week, closer to what? only losing by 14 instead of 24?

It's been 26 games, what are we closer to?

and thats my issue with ALL of our coaches post Meyer….you’re last sentence. Muschamp, McElwain, Mullen, now Napier all have coached under Meyer, Mack Brown, Saban, and Dabo in one way or another and saw FIRST HAND what needs to be done consistently on and off the field to be ELITE and every one of those hires completely have neglected a certain critical aspect in each of their tenure in rebuilding UF.

    It’s frustrating

You mean openly poaching a coach currently with another team?

I've long thought they were watching "The Music Man" as CBN and his carpetbagger pals rolled into town.

Nothing about Napiers run has been similar to Mullen’s.

    Well maybe the terrible D.

Well he was fired as Oc at Clemson, that’s been very telling all along.

If you look back at his record at ULL, yeah they won some games but many were close.

Had an intern who played at Tulane (DE) he said when they played ULL they boat raced them and were soft. He never liked the guy as a UF hire and he was a UF fan.

You know, it occurred me today that we mostly agreed, no matter how poorly they might have done in other areas, our recently fired coaches all had something they did really well. They all had some talent we would have kept them for in a lesser role had they been willing to stay. For instance, we would have loved to keep Mullen as OC, Muschamp as DC, and Zook as Recruiting Coordinator. For the life of me, I can’t think of one thing Napier does well enough that Coach Kiffin should offer him a position on the next staff. Anyone disagree?

This forum is an amalgamation of loyal, knowledgable Gator fans in a colossal sour mood. No matter what happens this season, we can always look forward to basketball and baseball seasons. Take Georgia, for example, after football season, they’re done for the most part.
We have a lot to look forward to; football ain’t one of them.

Note! This post was created to further the use of the word “amalgamation” in a sports forum.
