They will have Associate Athletic Director for Punting Team, AAD for Punt Returning Team, AAD for Kickoffs, AAD for Kick Returning, AAD for Field Goals, AAD for Field Goal Blocking, AAD for PAT’s, AAD for PAT blocking, AAD for Onside Kicks, and AAD for Defending Onside Kicks. And an analyst for each
My best guess in Toney. I found this in his bio. He was the only on field coach I saw who has special teams experience. Before joining Sam Houston State, Toney spent three seasons at Southeastern Louisiana. He was the safeties coach and special teams coordinator in 2014 after serving as a defensive assistant working with the secondary the previous two seasons. During his time at Southeastern Louisiana, the Lions ranked first in the FCS in pass efficiency defense, second in interceptions, fifth in red zone defense, seventh in total defense and eighth in scoring defense. His special teams topped the nation in kickoff return average, sixth in blocked kicks and 13th in kickoff return defense.
This would be my guess as well. Hearing recruits and others talk about Toney, seems he is a well-versed football coaching nerd and I mean that as a compliment. The guy seems to really want to know all aspects and how how it is connected.
I believe that they can coach to a certain extent but not on the playing field. To my knowledge they can offer insights during film study and group meetings. Regardless, you know that Napier has a plan in place for this. This is not an oversight on his part. He is way too thorough for this to go without addressing.
Tifwiw but I just read yesterday after our final hire that SP teams.will be covered by quality control coaches.
As long as they can be on the field working with the players then I'm going to trust Napier with this one.
I complain about this all of the time. It is embarrassing. Why not have a person assigned to call out the name of the reporter and make sure they can be heard. On another note, I have no problem hearing Edgar's stupid questions. And while I'm at it... Is there a reason we can't have coverage of the live press conferences and player interviews from the l games? No reason to wait until the next day to put it up. I personally prefer to watch those instead of getting them piecemeal from reporters throughout the week.
“He was also a part of the Georgia Southern staff that went into the Swamp and upset Florida in 2013.”
