This is not about the portal, but who will sign a pro contract. Sully mentioned Sproat as a reason for not putting him in Monday night on short rest. My best guess:

    Sproat
    Jud Fabian
    Thompson
    Lankford

Langford is a sophomore and not otherwise eligible for the draft.

Rivera should be top 10 round pick.
Halter was supposed to be, however this year hasn't helped him so he should be back.
BT is 50/50 on coming back
    Sterlin will go 2-4 round
    Fabian will go 1-3 round
    Sproat - 3-5 round

Here is a link to a list from MLB.com ranking the top 200 prospects. I am not sure when it was compiled but the four Gators on the list are Thompson(27), Fabian(38), Barco(71) and Sproat(112).

Pogue, Rivera, Halter and the ones that seem interesting
Halter bad season has to weigh a lot
Pogue is the guy that could vastly improve his draft status
Rivera probably can't improve his stock a ton

School year is technically irrelevant. The player is draft eligible if he turns 21 before drafted or between draft and signing deadline.

Which is why I added and not otherwise eligible because I knew someone would say what you just said. I am aware!

I would think Riopelle will be drafted smewhere. Decent defensively, good bat and surprisingly fast for a catcher.

Barco not going that high. Maybe a Team takes a flyer in the 10th or 11th round but I don’t see anything much earlier with that injury.

I had a huge Dodgers fan tell me that their organization is still very interested in him. I think he still goes fairly high.

I have to expect him to go higher than that because of the pitch ability he has already shown.

I would more expect a higher round but agreed upon slot money because of the TJ surgery, but that’s just me.

Barco will go in the 3rd if MLB thinks he'll actually sign. If he returns to UF and performs as one would expect he'll be a first rounder.

The thing with Barco and TJ surgery will be what organization drafts him. Not all organizations will have the patience required.

That is exactly what this Dodgers fan pointed out to me. He said they have a really good TJ rehab program.

If Barco returns to UF, will he be able to pitch next season? Has he had the surgery yet?

He would more than likely be able to pitch last 5 to 10 games and show himself in the SEC tournament and beyond that is if he had the surgery 5-6 weeks ago. But, all injuries, surgeries, and rehab are different. Cannot see a team spending a pick on him in the top 100 picks when he can’t throw

Can’t completely disagree but these things just have no degree of certainty to them and it’s a big risk for an organization to take. Typically speaking, you know better than me, leverage plays into these type of things… At this point in time Hunter has no leverage at all. I will say this, if he decides to return to try to pitch at the end of the year, SEC tournament, and beyond he could make himself a ton of money. By end of the year, based on timing all of this I could see him pitching in in the last two or three weeks of the season and by the SEC tournament be up to throwing 60 or 70 pitches. Beyond that timing wise based on what we saw from Pogue in Nesbitt he would be full throttle in the NCAA tournament.

    I am not a doctor.

But Barco is not really a power pitcher. He is a location pitcher with a decent but not awesome fastball.

Maybe the TJ protocol is sooner for him.

Like I said, I am not a doctor.
