Now wait just a minute! I'm sure CTW will conduct a fair and open competition with our current SS before naming a starter.

Or someone we get via the transfer portal. Within the next few weeks we should be hearing which Gators are transferring out and if we pick up any players that way. But based on Wallace's 2 years at Alabama and the fact that she was with the team and in the dugout all year, I think it will be really hard for another player to beat her out for the SS job.

Wallace and Adams are up the middle....it would take something very bizarre to change that

One thing this team seemed to lack at time was vocal leadership and yes she’s a transfer, but just watching her in the dugout this year she seems like she can step into that role.

Agree 100%. Every time there was a team huddle, she was in it. And she was one of the leaders of Orange & Blue cheers from the dugout. Bat, glove & leadership a lot to like with Skylar in the lineup.

Shipman is from California and Ralph Weekly retired as head coach at UT. She wants to win a national title. Wouldn't be surprised if she ends up at UCLA.

I hadn’t thought of that possibility but could see it. Only thing is I don’t see her leaving the SEC with all the coverage and her sister being on the network. I wouldn’t be suprised if she goes to LSU since they need an improvement at catcher. If not maybe somewhere like Kentucky or UGA.

I see UF added a grad transfer pitcher from FGCU, had nice numbers. Little surprised we went for another pitcher

3 PGF games will be on ESPNU tomorrow starting with the 18u championship. From what I can find it looks like Keagen Rothrock’s team will be playing in that final and she will be in the futures game. It’ll be interesting to see how she looks as there seems to be even more buzz around her than Barnhill.

In the pgf 18u champ game OU commit Jordyn Bahl’s team beat Keagen Rothrock’s 2-1 in 9 innings. Great game by both pitchers. Rothrock was let down by her defense a bit at the end. She hit a single through the 5-6 hole and her pinch runner came around to score the Dukes only run. Definitely a strikeout pitcher. Reminded me of Barnhill with working the rise and screw. Also has a good curve. Will be a great addition for the gators in a few years.
