Dunham is one of my favorites, too. Back in '97 or '98 we went with our son and daughter-in-law and her parents to see him and another comedian in a comedy club in Dayton, Ohio. Dunham was on fire that night and his routine had the expected number of edgy jokes with several references to 69. Our D-i-L's parents are 12 or 15 years older than Trucker and me and some of Dunham's jokes were going over the head of our son's M-i-L. During a break between Dunham's act and another comedian she turned to me and her daughter and said being that we were both younger than she and probably knew what he was joking about, could we please explain to her what Dunham meant when he made cracks about 69. My D-i-L sat there at a loss of words in how to tactfully answer the question her mother asked, so I told her. I remember the surprised look she had on her face but she said she thought it must be something like that.

Gary Gulman does several great bits. Check out his bit on the grapefruit.
saw Sam Kinnison live many years ago.
Robin Williams at Gator Growl was fantastic. Couldn't breath from laughing so hard.
Last year saw Jim Gaffigan and this year saw Ron White. Both great.

Really liked Sam Kinison, and enjoyed the Ron White of the "call me tater salad" era. Saw his most recent concert video and he was so coarse I could no longer take it--and I am VERY open minded to language and sex stuff.

For real old timey stuff, check out some of Brother Dave Gardner's material. also

    Shelley Berman
    Bob Newhart

And let's face it. Despite his most recent issues--which are deplorable--who can deny Bill Cosby was a great stand-up act.

Either I'm old, ignorant, or both, but I don't know a single name on that list.

Saw Sam at the Bob Carr in Orlando

    Richard Pryor
    Curly
    Dave Chappelle
    Rodney

When Gallagher went into semi retirement his manager hired a guy to do his sight gags and Carrot Top was born

If you thought you saw his act before , you were right

I have been enjoying Steve Hofstetter lately. He is almost making his career on handling hecklers.

He allowed his brother to do parts of his shtick but sued him to stop, because he violated the deal that he wouldn't perform as "actual" Gallagher.

A group of us went to see a comedy show years (decades?) ago on this place off 441 by Lake Fairview. They wanted to sit in the front row, but I warned them that if you're in the front row you are joke fodder for the comedian. Of course they told me I don't know what I'm talking about, so I said "well ok, but don't say you weren't warned". Sure as heck the comedian went right down the line of us one by one and tore them up. When they got to me he asked "Sir, what do you do for a living?". After the verbal butchering he had placed on the others I decided to play along and responded "I'm a male prostitute". My wife at the time looked at me in sheer horror. The comedian looked at me and was taken aback, then gave me the look of "thank you" because he realized I had just opened up an opportunity for a slew of jokes. Good times!
