Man... those White Castle "belly bombs", or "murderburgers" were SOOO freaking good!

Whenever I drove on a Highway, and saw that White Castle sign on the exit board, I was usually good for a sackful!

    What sayeth you?

I'm more of a Krystal guy myself, but the one by Tower Road on Newberry seems to go out of it's way to be as putrid as possible. The one on 13th by where the Sam's Club used to be usually does a good job.

The great thing about White Castle was it's simplicity, and consistency.

Watching them spread those chopped onions onto the griddle, then placing the 5-hole burger, (specifically designed to not only infuse the onion into the meat as it cooked, but also, into the buns, as they stragically placed the buns there for maximum efficiency and taste..

I'll tell ya', it worked,to make a carload of 4 or 5 people in a car, ordering 6 -8 sacks, depending on the "Munchies"

(In that case, I've done well over 2 sacks myself easilly.

Haven't eaten at either in decades. Still have good feeling about Krystal though. When I was a student, I could order 3 burgers, fries and a large coke and get change from a dollar.

I've never had a White Castle to be honest, but a sackfull of Krystals has hit the spot on more than one occasion.

Never had White Castle but Krystal brings back good memories of sharing a sack full with my dad on the way back from hunting trips.

I vote...neither. The business models have both too expensive for what you are getting.

Haven't had either in decades, but I remember that Krystal had magical alcohol absorption qualities after 1 am.

I’ve never even seen a White Castle so I have to vote Krystal. I’ve always heard how great WC is, but I’ve never had the opportunity to try one. After growing up poor and then spending 12 years in the Army, my food standards are pretty low. There’s not much I won’t eat;)

Clearly Im the expert. I’ve had both plenty of times back when metabolism was taken for granted. Winner Krystal’s cuz I like mustard on them more than ketchup. Plus you can get a good breakfast there with grits.

White Castle was a small midwestern chain, while Krystal was rooted in the south. The closest thing to a White Castle burger I can remember was Royal Castle. Similar burgers, but different delivery concept. My recollection was the White Castle had better beef patties than Krystal.

Upon reflection, I had a couple of White Castle burgers a few years ago, when I stumbled across one on the Las Vegas strip. It was a dump (a very busy dump) but the burgers were as I remembered from my youth.

The other day I had an "Impossible Burger" at the Cheesecake Factory, a burger patty that has no beef. I tried it to be adventurous, but it turned about to be amazingly beef-like. Excellent texture, flavor, and a bit of a crust on the outside like the real thing.

My wife and I would commonly hit the Ocala Krystal for a bag of burgers on the way home to Tampa after gator games

For a friends 40th I ordered 60 cheese Krystals (and 2 chili pups for me). There were about 10 of us in the limo and NONE went un-eaten.

Now y'all made me hungry for some quick food burgers. Gonna have to stop at the White Castle in Hinkley next time I'm through there.

Krystal for me, I don't each mustard as a rule, but I do like it on a Krystal.
