Naw, my favorite will always be Alan coming out of the MHS bullpen at the start of the game to Hell’s Bells……
I used Tom Sawyer at the plate. I always wondered why Geddy Lee didn’t cajole Neil to write lyrics for a baseball song. A modern-day warrior Mean, mean stride Today's Tom Sawyer Mean, mean pride
Actually I would be bad in CF as I was not fleet afoot but it is a great song: Yeah I know I did this song before, but it is a great song.
My wife is buying a bunch of CDs of music from one of her sister's youth. She is in bad health and thought this might cheer her up for the time she has left. Very sad. One was a Dylan album and I thought that was great. And a Stevie Wonder album and also great. One was a Jackson Browne album and we listened to it. I described it at Eagle-Lite and she paused and said "Nailed it". I am almost like The Dude in The Big Lewbowski but I don't hate all of the Eagles songs. I just dislike them after Bernie Leadon Jr left. And one was one of my favorite albums of all time: Moondance by Van Morrison.
Last night my wife requested a Lucinda Willams song June Bug versus Hurricane/Too Cool to be Forgotten. It took me a while, but I found the Car Wheels album.
I have been rewatching Season 1 of Documentary Now! on Amazon Prime. Hysterical if you like Bill Hader/Fred Armisen humor. Anyway the last two episodes are a parody of a documentary about The Eagles but they also make some really deep digs at other groups. My favorite was when a rock critic said something like "You knew it will blow up when one guy does all the hard work and the other guy just sings high." That has got to be a Simon and Garfunkel reference. I am sure that Paul Simon felt slighted when Art got all the applause after "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" when the genius was in the song writing.
GREAT song. I think Stevie Winwood was 17 when he sang this. I really like his stuff with Traffic starting with Mister Fantasy. I have it all on vinyl.
