McFaaden was great, but when you're the only other rb with Walker and Jackson and Emmitt didn't make the list, you should feel pretty fortunate.
Emmett was a great Gator but his pro career dwarfed his collegiate career big time. He did not lead us to a SEC or national title and did not win a Heisman trophy.
Lol, Tebow wouldn't have lead any of those Emmitt teams to a national championship either. Pretty sure Mannings aren't national champions either.
Just someone’s’ opinion. IMO not accurate. But TBH I didn’t pay attention to the criteria. How is “great” defined?
And Emmitt. I’d leave off SOS unless his coaching prowess counts. I’d probably have Wuerffel in there over several on that list.
I can see Heisman winners being selected. Peyton lost versus UF each year at TN. Did not pick any OL or DL. Lot of good ones in SEC. Primarily skill position list.
Burrow, Mathieu, Newton, amd Manziel did most (or all) of their damage in one big season. Thats not worthy of this list imo. Plenty of great names, especially if go a little deeper pre 2000s
To answer the question about what is wrong with the picture... Rex Grossman is not in there. Rex- who did win the SEC in 2000 and would have won it in 01 if we had a decent defense and a little luck. (Playing in a hurricane in Auburn didn't help.) Obviously- he should have won the Heisman as well in 01. Also- not enough DL, OL or LBs... And as others have said- 1 year wonders shouldn't make the list.
