We saw a very unproven Florida offense have a very good night against Utah. They played exceptionally well in their very first game. Are the Gators worthy of being ranked 12? We shall soon see. I am hoping for consistency of execution on offense and player progression--especially with AR--but he needs his team to grow around him too! AR showed he was in command and his confidence surprised the heck out of me. So, I want to see more before I can think we are worthy of #12. Don't misunderstand me. I think Florida has exceptional talent which has underperformed up until this year. Billy has them performing at a high level, and injuries, or lack thereof, will determine the season. Clearly, this team is not ready to face Georgia, yet. The question is: will Florida be able to hang with the Dawgs in October? The biggest question mark is our defense. Regardless of the defense, though, I think Florida can win many of it's games, barring serious injuries. So, what I'd like to see is consistency, progression, smart decisions with the football, execution, and more--much, much, more--touchdowns! By the way, anyone who doubts Napier can coach isn't paying attention!!! And I believe Napier's belief in his own playcalling abilities probably translates into why AR played with so much confidence! OK, GN, what do You realistically expect to see?

    8-4/9-3 with some luck.

It’s a week to week thing.

Although I'm still up in the clouds after Saturday night . . . it's way too early for me to set any expectations until we see our Gators play against Kentucky and then at UcheaT. By then 4-games in, we'll have a pretty good baseline.

Until then, I want to see solid effort every play like we saw Saturday. I want to see recruits being engaged like we saw Saturday. I want to see an improving TEAM too. This is set-the-foundation year . . . but that doesn't mean they can't win a whole lot of ball games. My $0.02.

Beat most teams, improve the defense, win a NY6 bowl, sign a high quality class.

A NY6 bowl and beating F$U would be a very good outcome for this team. Won't know how good they can be until they face a tough test on the road. Should know more after the UT game.

It's still early. Our offense looked good, especially the run game. AR will pick up the nuances of the passing game as the season progresses. I do believe the #12 ranking is justified. Remember, Utah won the PAC-12 last season and have a large majority of their starters back, plus a canny, seasoned QB, plus good depth and an excellent coach. They were expecting a monster season.
Defensively, we need much more than we showed against Utah if we want to compete with Georgia. We need to get more pressure on the quarterback.
Right now, I see us with anywhere from 8 to 10 wins in the regular season. The UK game will clear it up a bit.
It's always funny though, to read the thoughts of some here at GC. One guy was grousing about the poor offensive line play against Utah. Silly person. Our O-line was very good.

O/U is 9 wins. But I sincerely doubt we'll see any absolute can't watch clunkers like we've seen repeatedly the last few years.

We’ll be ‘dogs in only two games…just saying.

I don’t believe that UK/UT/LSU and FSU are coin flips.

    But we’ll find out soon.

See us losing to teams that have more talent and only those teams.

All depends on how healthy we stay. After that, hiw does AR evolve and perform as teams get more game film on him. Defenses generally get better scheming as the season progresses.

Right now we can hang with anyone minus uga. We simply don't have the top athletes to hang with them but give us a few years. Otherwise if we stay healthy we have a good chance of winning the rest.
I think has to keep improving passing the ball and exploiting defenses who will go all out to stop our running game. Teams will force AR to beat them by air therefore I see more blitzing and 8 men in the box.
The season will also depend on how we handle away games as we now have a huge target on our back.

I would expect no worse than 10 - 2 if we beat KY.

I feel confident that when things are tough, this team will have each others' backs and fight on.

With AR, we have a chance to win any game.

Our defense is a work in progress. Help is on the way. I foresee a return to a top 10 defense in the future.

With a win Saturday and against USF, the UT hype will be off the charts. Then we find out what kind of team we have.

My expectations are considerably elevated after seeing the first game!

10-2 seems very doable without key injuries!

I think it would be a letdown if we lost more than 3 regular season games.

Postseason (if we get there) is another story, it's going to depend on the matchups. I don't think winning the SEC is out of the question, and if we do that then anything is possible.

We have a win under our belt and a good one at that.

That said, almost every one on our SEC schedule looks better than last year.

I'm still happy with 8, ecstatic with 10 and ready to cast a lifesize statue of Napier and rename it the University of Napier if he makes the playoffs

My outlook hasn’t changed. I had this game as a toss up before the season …and that’s what it was. I imagine Neyland will be electric in 3 weeks. And we still have TAM & FSU on the road. Then there’s Georgia.

    Still think 8-4/9-3 is realistic.

What I witness from the Utah game, was a different mind set with that team period. I seen player vision expanded and their thought process during each play vastly improved from last year performance. There is still much needed improvement, but I witness leadership, and accountability with a HC displaying his trust in his players. That was not witness last year.

I truly believe, that with each game that confidence and coaching, with the trust and leadership from this HC, will strengthen every week. This team will shock many this year. I truly am for the first time in a long time, feeling excited for the future of this program. I truly believe, instead of hoping, that we have a HC wanting to be here and wants the players future and welfare improved under his leadership, not just a position to possess until a better opportunity. He is making a lot of things right now, and showing it by his actions, not by his words. It is truly refreshing to see in this present time.

I can't comment on our other SEC opponents, but I don't think Kentucky does look better. They had a pretty solid ground game last year, which they don't have this year. I think that will make a huge difference in the game; that and 12 fewer penalties.

I guess we will find out Saturday.
