I didn't. Then again, I also didn't throw a tantrum over other people not showing appropriate respect for the national anthem.

The obsession in this forum about everything President Trump does is over the top. I don't know how some of you are going to take 4 more years when he wins in November.

Yeah. It's not like Trump saluted someone while holding a cup of coffee!

    i haven’t

but I’ve never lectured others to do so, either.

don’t you expect more out of POTUS than the guy in his living room?

To answer the question, standing with right hand over the heart.

That is the proper position. Period.

But pretending to conduct the band, while not proper, is not DISrespecting the anthem.

After watching that at least hit can say you'd be safe with Trump in a lightning storm. He's a very poor conductor.

    I googled this:

Should you stand when the national anthem is on TV?
No, you shouldn't. While it might be seen as being respectful if you do so during a public event (although you are under no obligation to do so even there) when you are watching television, the event could be anything from tape delayed to a rebroadcast, making it not even a "live" performance.

He just seems to have the mind of a toddler in many ways. Which really says something about his audience.

Prediction: Within a few days, this will be considered the "perfect" way to celebrate the playing of the National Anthem, and all the cultists will adopt it, along with changing the lyrics to include his name and honor him

Insert President Obama in there instead of generalized “black president” and you know his statement to be true.

Righties would be absolutely losing their minds, like they did for the tan suit or the infamous “coffee cup salute” incident.

I don’t see this as worthy of losing ones mind over, actually it’s sort of sad. Guy looks like he has full on dementia or ADHD, even his teenaged son manages to stand still. He’s fidgeting and moving around like a dang toddler, except there’s no parental figure to tell the toddler “stand still”. Example 1,074,569 that something just ain’t right with this guy.
