What happens if Ohio State and Utah both lose? Certainly a possibility. I expect Wisconsin to play much better than they did the first time.

    LSU
    Clemson
    Oklahoma/Baylor

Does Wisconsin make it? Ohio State? Georgia?

    Would we have a claim?

Well, we’ll soon know. Frankly, whatever happens is OK with me. It’ll all be fun. It’s college football, not the boring NFL. :)

No. UGA beat us head to head. That should matter.
And Wiscy will have 4 wins vs ranked teams (including #1) to our single ranked team (Auburn)
I think we may finish the season ranked 5th after all the bowls shake out though.

Ohio State gets in with a loss, so no chaos there.

I could easily see Utah falling to Oregon. All that would do is put Oregon back in the NY6 and probably knock Utah out of it. What happens beyond that is contingent on what happens in the Big XII championship game and the unlikely event Georgia upsets LSU.

My guess is that UCF will get to claim another NC. Damn chaos.

It's already been said that Ohio St and LSU are in no matter if they win or lose. What the conference championships are for is who is the overall #1. If either team can RUTS, this will be the game they will do it in. Big deal playing Clemson or Oklahoma/Baylor/Utah.

If they both lose, there is no way the committee would have 2 Big Ten and 2 SEC Teams.

Wisconsin isn’t in the playoff no matter what. You would have Clemson, UGA, OSU, and LSU in most likely.

We're 99% locked in to the Orange against UVA or the Sugar if Georgia beats LSU, anything else is just torturing ourselves

Even if LSU gets knocked out of the playoff we still go to the Orange Bowl against UVA

I'm happy with the Orange Bowl. Prestigious bowl, close to home. Should be fun.
We don't have the resume to make any kind of claim in the playoffs. Out of our wins, only Auburn is currently ranked.
Kentucky, Miami, and Missouri could have help bring our schedule up, but they all ended up sucking.

What happens if LSU beats Georgia by a score of, say, 51-10 and Utah loses? You'd have OSU, LSU and Clemson and the winner of Okl-Baylor?

If Clemson loses in the ACC-CG and Georgia also loses then that could open up two play-off spots. That would truely be chaos at the end of the season!

Both OSU & LSU could lose and still make it in because of their SOR. That may not be the case for Clemson because of the weakness of the ACC.

  18. We would still play uva (ACC champs) in the Orange in the event of a Clemson loss.

But WHERE in the world would Clemson go? They might fall to the Cotton Bowl because of contractual tie-ins for other bowls & conferences.

If Georgia beats LSU, Florida could end up in a marquee Sugar Bowl: Oklahoma/Baylor vs Florida.
That could be a much more difficult game than a Florida vs Virginia.

LSU would still make the CFP even with a loss to Georgia just because of their wins over #9 Florida, #11 Auburn & #12 Alabama. Georgia would also have wins over #15 Notre Dame, #9 Florida, #11 Auburn & presumably #2 LSU.

Had the Bulldogs remained undefeated and not lost to S.Carolina earlier, Georgia would have had the same margin of error as the undefeated Ohio St and LSU. That is, you can lose your conference title game while still being able to make the playoffs.

^btw, Those rankings could again change after next week's CFP.
