GatorLurker also calls Donovan 'just another coach' if you don't count Miller's buzzer beater and Brewer's shot against Georgetown...... so yea.

Without them there are no Final Fours let alone NCs and then he is less than Kruger in that regard with WAY more talent than Lon had.

    Luck is important.

BD was and is a very good coach. But lots of posters on this board were upset with him after 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 when the Gators had loads of talent and flamed out early.

Luck runs both ways. People forget that we had key injuries right before the NCAAT in most of those seasons we didn't make the Sweet 16. Injuries to guys like Brett Nelson, Matt Bonner, and Matt Walsh. Hard to advance when you lose top players.

If the whole team and KJ returned next season, there would be something that would happen to throw a monkey wrench into the plans because that has been the way it works since White has been here. All of us fans would get our hopes up and then the rug would be pulled from underneath our feet. Like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown, just as he goes to kick it she pulls it away and he lands on his ass again.

Along the same lines, will we have Appleby, Duruji, Locke & Osifo for two more years or will they move on to play pro ball somewhere or to make way as new talent comes on board?

I can't see them leaving. They're all good college players, but none of them look like NBA-caliber at this time.

I assume at least Locke & Appleby would get a shot at playing overseas. If so, would there be any reason for them to stay at UF another year?

Well, yeah. A degree from the U of F goes a long way in life.

I mean George Mason was the real deal, you don't get lucky taking out 4 legit programs to get to the Final Four the way they did.

Also, I wouldn't exactly call our win against Georgetown lucky. Our team did what it needed to win the game.

George Mason beat a string of top-tier, storied programs to reach the Final Four. They were no fluke. And then we thrashed them when we got hold of 'em.

That would be great. In college hoops, it is better to be old and stay old. However, I'd guess Lewis would leave. He is already 21 and likely wants to start earning money playing hoops overseas. Mann is 99.9% gone. He too want to start earning money. Key is someone who I have NO clue on. I'd be thrilled if he came back, but I am just glad he is healthy. I'd look for the Gators to fill the 3 (maybe 4-5)open spots with transfers. I would also bet we have a transfer or 2 on our roster right now.

CC, Omar, Duruji, Appleby & Noah is a not too shabby core. With Osifo, the Big Guy and the Little Guy on the Bench an a top 25 player coming in? Sweet.

Big if, but if KJ can play and wants to stay....formidable.....

You're overlooking Samson. I expect big things from that young man next year. He's athletic and can really shoot it.

Unfortunately, he’s hardly getting any experience this season.

They got lucky that after the first weekend they had essentially home games.

Is Mike White back in this scenario?

If so, no. Coaching does matter, this isn't the NBA.

Sad to say but you are correct. I think White has Muschamp luck..I mean when everything lines up, things just go horribly wrong randomly at the wrong time. White has Muschamp luck and it is sad
