Clemson showed they are beatable, and the WCWS is as wide open as it’s ever been. Almost anyone there could crash out or win it all.

The girls were sent to OKC on a turbo-prop. Bush league. If they win, they damn well better be brought back in a jet. Maybe "The Donald" will offer his new toy. Go Gators

 

National media does not love us lol which im okay with. Listening to in the circle they were criticizing our LOB. Which is comeoletley fair lol, but made themselves look incredibly stupid by saying the Ava Brown threw well along with Keagen..... Ava didnt throw a pitch lol.

 

I imagine most of you remember, but when Florida played Texas in the middle of March, Rothrock wasn't available. Oxley started the first game and got rocked in the 4th inning for 5 runs, when it was tied at 1-1. In Game 2, we scored 7 runs, but Hammack & Brown gave up 12, Miller 1 more and we lost 13-7. In Game 3, Oxley & Brown combined on a 2-hitter and we won 3-1. We played sloppy defense that series and gave up a bunch of unearned runs, but also didn't have Keagan. Their ace, Teagan Kavan, only threw 8.2 innings in that series and only gave us 1 earned run and picked up both of their wins. We are playing better infield defense of late, have seen Kavan for multiple at bats, while they haven't faced Rothrock yet. Advantage Florida, IMO.

 

I would add that Brown and Hammack seem to be pitching better as of late.

I would not be surprised if Texas threw Mac, but I also think MW ego gets in the way and he does not want to risk it so he throws Kavan. Kavan has not been super sharp as of late. Crazy to think that either win or lose our next opponent is either Tennessee or Oklahoma.

 

With the losers of Saturday’s games getting flipped to other side of the bracket for elimation game its opens the possibility for All SEC finals or the long shot of no SEC team in finals.
How about this: we beat Tex, lose to OK, get flipped and win elimination game and beat TT twice to reach finals against Ok. Or, vice versa, with a win against Ok who get flipped.
A lot of interesting possibilities with all four teams in our side relatively equal.
Something scarry! Canady against FSU was like a cat toying with a mouse. If she brings her best work to OKC, “Katy, bar the door!”

 

Texas Tech & Tennessee have the 2 best pitchers, IMO, but any of the 8 teams there is fully capable of winning it all. There is no truly dominant team like Oklahoma has been the last 4 years. Yes, they are very good and have confidence and the crowd on their side, but there are beatable.

 

Very interesting scenarios for sure. We need Keegan to pitch her best and at some point, we will need Brown or someone to step into the limelight

 

With Keegan sometimes I think the pitching coach should signal in a code for her to choose the pitch. When she has 2 strikes why fool around with wasted pitches. Just let her get after the batter.
Ava is real fireplug and our defense responds to her. She has to be our first line of defense when Keegan needs relief this week.

 

Think those "waste pitches" are Rothrock missing too much. Pitching coach isn't calling for something a foot off the plate

Understand - But @apkgator is a great poster who was following the Men's Golf tournament where we were matched against Texas and got mixed up on which thread to post. I just wanted to make sure he knew his post should go on the other thread and not be wasted on the softball thread. All good.
