“If Putin and others want to find out what happens on Day 51, ask the Ayatollah.” — Lindsey Graham —

Did the Ayatollah fall out of power while I was at dinner?

Looks like Russia is on its way to losing South Caucasus. It started when seven Azerbaijanis were arrested on suspicion of murder charges dating back 25 years. Two died in custody, and the other five went on trial after being badly beaten. The government of Azerbaijan did not take that well, arresting Russian IT workers, raiding the Russian news agency, etc. If Russia loses the South Caucasus, they lose the ability to control key land trade routes from China to Turkey.

Two sworn enemies unite against Putin

Good news for our resident Russophiles and Kremlin propaganda agents: Russia is facing a severe population shortage, and needs people very much. They are expected to be short by 11 MILLION workers by 2030. Putin is considering offering a stipend of potatoes and onions to westerners willing to relocate, with a raffle to see who gets the dozen eggs that will be made available once a month. Russophiles, even if clinically insane, are to be given "preferred" status for visas.

    MSN

For our resident Russophiles, I suggest we take up a collection for one-way tickets to Moscow. They'll want to get a head start on the stampede, and select the best potatoes available.

Another of the positive benefits of this change in tone from the President is that it will cause a split between the MAGA true believers and those who simply support Russia. Consequently, we will find out who the actual Russophiles are when MAGA falls into line and becomes all about smacking Russia down.

maybe so, maybe not. You Can’t say you would hold European feet to fire when for decades nobody did, then when someone finally does, he’s demonized as alienating our allies by asking them to actually pay. Oh the horror. Even calling out the Germans for buying energy from Russia and not from us, all while asking us to protect them from…….Russia?!?!? Keep in mind Trump did that long before the war broke out and hating Russians was in vogue for the left. Our European allies have been kindly ‘asked’ to pay for decades and didn’t. So here we are 4 years into this war and the Russians have taken land the size of the Atlantic Ocean to western Daytona beach and it’s basically turned into an over the horizon stand off drone war, which tells me the Russians are not an occupational threat to anything past bout 200 miles. As always, everything above is JMHO.
