Link? The last I saw was that Russia was only going to proved information on ballistic missile launches (presumably to avoid the US thinking there is a hostile action).
Apparently Ukraine has used dynamite on one of the Crimean bridge pillars. Speculation that it is the train side as the vehicle side reopened. If it really was 1100 pounds of dynamite it illustrates how difficult it will be to bring the bridge down. https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/s/JAt1On0HyZ
My sources are almost entirely not Russian. But of course you knew that and you simply rush to dismiss them as unreliable because they contradict Ukrainian sources that you lap up like a baby bird.
The giddiness over this attack reminds me of the euphoria after Ukrainian forces punched through air, in the Summer of 2022 … and eventually suffered a grim fate.
Looks like they targeted these thin pylons. May be hard to understand how much damage is done at this point. Interesting, too that they called this the "first explosive device"
Bridge reportedly deemed safe and reopened to traffic. Ukraine’s obsession with the bridge continues.
You are definitely one of the most reasoned "pro-war" posters in the thread. My post wasn't necessarily directed at you and I generally appreciate your insights, even when we disagree.
that sounds like a threat to a foreign leader trump isn't a pimple on Z's ass when it comes to leadership. The USA would be lucky to have a leader like Z
No, I am asking for a link saying that Russia is providing the US with the data as required in the new START treaty. What Russia has done is publicly announce they are not providing data nor allowing verification inspections. Russia then confirmed they will continue to provide information on ballistic missile launches. The US in response to Russia is also not allowing inspections. I’m unsure whether we are providing data but assume we’re in tit-for-tat and only providing information on ballistic missiles as well.
those look like thick steel plates bolted to the front of the pile cap. the concept to protect is solid if the impact was distributed across the cap somewhat evenly as concrete does well under uniform compression. If those plates were attached with a minimal number of short arms those may serve as elements driven into the pile cap that would act like a wedge to crack the cap. Crack the pile cap, compromise the bridge if it is indeed a driven pile bridge as tweet indicates Hopefully they test the integrity with a full load train, and it fails. Wouldn't want to be the engineer that has to do the damage assesment on that bridge but I guess they can do a lot with remote observation now. At one point, I used to dive with bridge inspectors down here doing scour inspections for us. I went for chits and giggles and to count the snook and jewfish. It made fishing a lot more discouraging knowing that those monsters were down there. I saw more 40" snook under Big Carlos Pass bridge in 30 minutes than I have caught in my life. Fished it the next day with good live bait, fished hard up and down the water column, no big snook for me. if bridge is driven pile with cap and the cap is compromised, it is done. if it bastion bridge, safety factors and puck factor may get them over the bridge as the weight isn't concentrated on a cap. Here is driven pile cluster cut before the cap is poured at Big Carlos. They build one cast in place bigger column on top of the cap 20250518_120712 by bluewaterfever, on Flickr
Yet your sources are entirely consistent with Kremlin propaganda, and not at all consistent with the truth. Imagine that.
Guess maybe Ukraine has more cards than trump thinks he does. maybe not patriots or f-16's but this isn't your grandpas war, not even your dad's war. Ukraine is proving that and seem to be supplementing artillery with home grown drones while their production and tech ramps up. Ukraine blast Donald Trump with sarcastic message months after White House furore Ukraine's audacious military operation was met with celebration by Ukrainians, many of whom took the opportunity to take a jab at the U.S. President. Trump has consistently taken a hard stance against Zelensky, blaming him for initiating the war, suggesting that Ukraine was on the brink of defeat and had "no cards to play." .................................................... "They (Ukraine) don't have any cards, but they play it tough. But we're not going to let this continue." In a cheeky nod to Trump's card analogy, the Business Ukraine journal posted a succinct seven-word taunt aimed at Trump. "Today Zelensky played the King of Drones," they wrote following news of the aerial strikes.
Trump will respond by playing the Drone of Kings. That is, unless he turns himself into the court jester again.
