I am a bit biased as an Orlando fan, but I agree.

However, the romance is gone from the Dunk Contest though for me.

Nah, you people are mere Children.

I graduated High School the year all black Texas Western upset all white Kentucky in the 1966 Championship Game.

But if you really want to feel old, hang with my 95 year old former Coach, who graduate HS in 1941.

I agree however the one two years ago between Gordon and Levine was easily and by far the best dunk contest ever. Those guys were continually one upping each other with dunks that were borderline superhuman

Best dunk I ever saw live was in Gainesville when Dominique had a late game fast break, left around th FT line, 360 dunk. He received a standing Ovation from the gator fans.

This is maybe top 3 all-time IMO, which is still saying a hell of a lot. It was:

    1. 16 years after Vince Carter so dunks naturally evolve
    2. These guys had much more access to "professional dunkers" like Jordan Kilganon to show them these dunks before they competed and trained (Vince literally winged his first dunk, saying he had done something similar twice before)
    3. I had seen some of these dunks on youtube clips prior
    4. Carter's dunks were straight down and with such ferocity
    5. Aaron Gordon is 6'9/6'10 vs Vince at 6'6

But agree that like Dominique in '86 he was robbed. The fix was also in...

he was unbelievable. one of my favorite in game dunks is him going for a double-pump reverse in traffic, gets bumped in mid-air, then spins and does a front 2-hand tomahawk instead. And this is with the ankle weights that he was wearing in the mid-80's vs the light as a feather shoes they wear now
